For our final record of the year, we turn to Glasgow's man of the year - Denis Sulta.

Like a good chunk of the Numbers family, he has earnt his stripes working at the coalface of techno aka Rubadub. He has crafted two excellent twelves for our bare-chested cousins at Dixon Avenue Basement Jams and is beginning to carve himself out a reputation as a DJ of some repute, expertly blending in the bangers with Sulta-certified weirdness. Denis is part of a new wave of Glaswegian artists who are doing amazing things and whose music is continuously exciting us.

‘It’s Only Real’ created by Sulta during a burst of inspiration one Sunday, takes us back to a time when techno was intricately melodic but still kicked hard in the club. Made with only the purest of intentions and a dedication to the art of moving heads and feet.

Miami Horror Presents: The Shapes 

Leila is the first song released from Miami Horror's new conceptual release "The Shapes" - a unique 5 track release that see's Miami Horror step out of their comfort zone.  The Shapes combines upbeat percussive grooves, with experimental vocal styles that echo Talking Heads and other post-new wave groups of the 80s.

In conjunction with the EP's release Miami Horror are working closely with visual artists that have inspired their music such as Erin Garcia, Spenceroni, Lynnie Zulu & Annukil, as well as Argentinian and Sth african artists John Mccam & Sebatian Borkenhagen. "The Shapes" is due March 17.

A nifty new release from a long-time AAA member of the Classic clan, James Curd (formally of Greenskeepers) joins forces with a slightly newer face, Shaun J Wright. You will remember Shaun from his first Classic release ‘Matters Of The Heart’ with frequent collaborator and Twirl head Alinka which made a splash in 2015 and was remixed by The Black Madonna. In ‘Now I Believe’ James moves out of his modern day disco sound into a fresh take on the Classic. Reminiscent of Derrick Carter and Chez Damier’s ‘Hope’, this bumps ever so slightly into the right side of tech, with Shaun’s vocal giving it some warmth and soul. Already being played to death by Honey Dijon and Luke Solomon, this is set to be another special moment for the harmonious Classic family.

Gina Breeze is a new recruit to the Classic crew. A budding DJ and producer rising through the ranks via Manchester clubbing institutions SpeedQueen and a residency at HomoElectric, Gina’s debut for Classic is complex, with influences in grassroots club culture with some wicked moments of acidity. ‘After Dark’ has a hypnotic late-night club feel while ‘Reckless’ employs a brooding, biting 4/4 beat enhanced by vogue-inspired percussive rhythms. ‘Look Don’t Touch’ gyrates with dancefloor sensuality, featuring wonderkid and performer Ted Rogers on the cutting vocals. Oliver Koletzki follows up his latest full-length material, originally encasing 13 tracks with a series of remix EPs. The first of the two sees the label head's 'A Tribe Called Kotori' and 'Tankwa Town' rearranged, totaling four brand new mainstage-ready reinterpretations.

The main artist himself contributes an alternate version of the melodic electronica ballad 'A Tribe Called Kotori', the forerunner of the album. Dubbed 'Woodfloor', this variant boasts affluent rhythmical percussions, that swiftly and righteously amp up its dance-floor appeal. 

Chris Schwarzwälder steps up with another reinterpretation of 'A Tribe Called Kotori', channeling on its dubby layer and injecting more zest through playful drums and a subtle slice of buzzy synths. 

Usually known for his vibrant productions, Niko Schwind offers up a surprisingly laid-back yet highly captivating rework of the oriental folk-tinged Tankwa Town. The track’s initial Bengali instrumentation transfigures into its less acoustic, more glitchy and electronic sounding rendition.

Meanwhile, on the flipside, we find Berliner Kleintierschaukel conveying the prime arrangement into a harmony-heavy exploration. A deeply immersive piece, the remix’s central earworm comes in the shape of aptly crafted sitar loops.
