Let Me Down

Introduction in English:

Sometimes I wonder if there is some kind of ‘safe place’ in this world. Everywhere I look: Wars, climate disasters, starvation and poverty. Not to mention the increasing everyday violence at home, in the neighbourhood and on the streets.
As early as 1962, John Lennon described in the song ‘There's a Place’ (perhaps also under the impression of the Cuban Missile Crisis at the time with the acute threat of a third world war) that sometimes the only thing left to do is to retreat to an inner safe place when the outside world (as is now increasingly the case again) is increasingly on the brink of an abyss.
In this respect, this song is highly topical, although I would like to add that the search for the inner safe place should only ever be temporary, in order to regain strength there (for example through one's own musical creativity) in order to make a greater contribution to the preservation of the earth and human coexistence in the outer world.
I am sure that John Lennon meant this kind of fluid balance between gathering oneself inwardly and being lovingly in the world.       

Introduction in German:

Manchmal frage ich mich, ob es auf dieser Welt eine Art "Sicherer Ort" gibt. Wo ich hinschaue: Kriege, Klimakatastrophen, Hungern und Armut. Ganz zu schweigen von der zunehmenden alltäglichen Gewalt zu Hause, in der Nachbarschaft und auf den Strassen.
John Lennon hat (vielleicht auch unter dem Eindruck der damaligen Kuba-Krise mit akuter Dritte Weltkriegsgefahr) in dem Song "There's a Place" schon 1962 beschrieben, dass einem manchmal nur der Rückzug an einen inneren sicheren Ort verbleibt, wenn die äußere Welt (wie jetzt zusehends wieder) zusehends an einem Abgrund steht.
Insofern ist dieser Song brandaktuell, wobei ich hinzufügen möchte, dass das Aufsuchen des inneren sicheren Ortes immer wieder nur vorübergehend erfolgen sollte, um dort (etwa über eigenes musikalisches Schaffen) wieder Kraft zu sammeln, um in der äußeren Welt verstärkt einen eigenen Beitrag zum Erhalt der Erde und des menschlichen Miteinanders zu leisten.
Ich bin mir sicher, dass John Lennon diese Art von Fließgleichgewicht zwischen sich innerlich sammeln und liebevoll in der Welt sein gemeint hat.

“Theater of War” is a scream from the inside: a raw, distorted anthem about internal chaos, emotional exhaustion, and the quiet violence of modern life.

It’s about the pressure to shut up, smile, and fall in line. The kind of burnout that doesn’t come from working hard but from pretending you’re fine when you’re not. We wrote it for the people who are still thinking, still feeling, still resisting in a world that rewards obedience over authenticity.

Theater of War

The song is in Tuvan and it's being sung in a cave within Shaman Rock, an outcrop stretching into Lake Baikal in Siberia. It's an appeal for world peace to the holy mountain of that region, Mount Kezheghe, which local shamans believe will grant every wish. 

We created two circles of singers toning 13 notes, in the shamanic tradition of the "perpetual choirs" to "reach out to" the 13 constellations above.  Andreas (@APi_ZZ) also had fun drumming polyrhythms of 13s!

In The Half Light (Feat. Kateryna Andruko)

I wrote this song for our Celts track, but it didn't quite fit that vibe, and so we decided it would be better as its own single, and here it is. It is based on an old Welsh myth.

This track is the result of Andreas giving me four random chords, after which I received a vision of the sea around some forgotten ruins on the beach of a tiny picturesque village in Greece which turned out to be called Assini, although I'd never heard of it before.
