For The Love Of Bands is an online magazine and indie music blog launched in 2016. The blog’s main focus is on independent music but also covers a variety of indie, upcoming and emerging bands and artists. The team consists of writers hailing from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and beyond.

The blog generally concentrates on the discovery of new music, mainly in the Indie, Rock, Folk, Singer-Songwriter, Punk, Reggae, Acoustic, Alternative, Americana, Garage, Shoegaze/Dream Pop, Ska, Surf genres.

Besides indie music reviews, the blog also covers music industry tips, playlists, YouTube compilations, interviews and monthly(ish) Indie Music Contests.

Vancouver-based singer-songwriter Monica Lee uses her powerful voice, sense of humour and poetic chops to warm our hearts as well as to share her pain. That’s never been more evident than on her latest album, Farewell (Release date July 24, 2020), containing 10 tracks that chronicle a tumultuous past decade in her life.

From bad break-ups to finding a soul mate, starting a family while at the same time losing loved ones, the songs on Farewell span the breadth of human experience but ultimately celebrate our ability to survive. All of that is reflected in Farewell’s seamless blend of country, blues and jazz, co-produced by Jesse Waldman at Vancouver’s Redlight Sound.

The late John Mann of Spirit of the West once compared Monica Lee to Joni Mitchell and it’s easy to agree after hearing her ability to balance confessional subject matter with vivid observations of everyday life. Farewell is a statement both beautiful and soul stirring, a testament to following one’s muse, as well as Lee’s undeniable, natural talent.

When she steps on stage you can’t help but feel like you just met her. The Vancouver native's musical journey has taken her from Berklee College of Music, to busking the streets of Europe, to touring various highways across the US of A after the release of her first EP Magnolia. In 2018 Chambers landed in Nashville, TN. Her second EP Start Again has received over 125,000 streams and counting. She has shared the stage with Rayland Baxter, Nikki Lane, Delta Rae, Walker Lukens, Liz Cooper & the Stampede, Briston Maroney, Lawrence, and more. 

Being unable to perform during the pandemic forced Emily to focus on her songwriting more than ever before. It is how she processes, understands, comes to terms with, reflects on and shares her stories.
