Sihle Glen Mngomezulu or Vortex also known as "The Beast from the East", is an emcee from Tembisa 1632, south of Ekurhuleni District in the east of Johannesburg. He is a member of the rap collective and creative community "KRAFT (Kings from a Foreign Tribe)" with other active rap emcees and numerous creatives. Falling in love with Hip Hop led Vortex to the art of beat boxing back in 2003, and with the evolution that comes with passing time, in 2004 he started writing his own " scripts" or rather rap verses and found himself performing in 2005 at Church. With a strong Christian backround and growing in the field as an emcee, Vortex has recorded tracks of his own and has featured other hip hop artists from Tembisa and around Johannesburg. He has shared the stage with likes of: Kronos Logiq, Pro Kid, A Huge Impakt fam, Last days fam, ATP, DeviousDee, Phonetiq, Book of Life, Your Lokal Head, Ben Sharpa, Freddie Bosta, Projektah Elder Bars just to name a few. He is curently featured on the Indie Expo Mixtape and the Invoice Mixtape. With the "Rise of the Beast-Wounded Mic EP tour” presented by 21 Mic Salute, Vortex Griffon aims to reach new listeners with the tour and expand as a Hip hop artist.The ep and tour was launched in his hometown Tembisa in Jan 2015.
