Fat Sushi were for the first time on Suara with 'Wake Up' featuring the vocals of US legend Roland Clark released on the last Kitties Wanna Dance Compilation. Now they signed their Suara debut EP with a groove foccused two track release. 'Warehouse' has everything you want from a perfect Tech-House track: A catchy melody with a constantly pushing vibe. Another batch of artists join Solomun's Diynamic roster with the sixth edition of the label's Four To The Floor series.

Spanish duo Pig&Dan, Kompakt favourite Guy Mantzur and Beatport chart-topping Brazilian Anna each contribute valiant efforts to the EP, but it's the offering from one of DT's favourite Swede's Jonas Rathsman that has really caught our attention.

Dutch producer and DJ Reinier Zonneveld is racking up accolades about as fast as new fans are losing their shit to his far reaching beats. Having already released on Richie Hawtin’s Minus label and the ever-influential Traum Schalplatten, Zonneveld’s latest, an EP titled Rushchamber, is out on the increasingly important Stil Vor Talent, an imprint run by tastemaker Oliver Koletzki.

The 3-track EP captures the variation Zonneveld is known for and kicks off with “Sharp Bust,” a careening, pure techno number with detuned horns and whirring rushes. The titular track 2, “Rushchamber,” weaves in groovier house influences in the beat, and “Flatchat” levels off somewhere in the middle. The collection reflects the wide palate that Zonneveld, who was raised on classical music, brings to the studio.

Patrick Topping returns to Hot Creations with his 'Taking Libz EP' and demonstrates why his reputation carries such weight with three special tracks that act as a master-class in how to create music that will consume dance floors.

First up is 'Brayed' which takes the listener on a loopy and enriching journey, whilst 'Howk' is a classic foot-to-the-floor number. Concluding the EP is 'Taking Libz', the title track that sees Topping firmly hold onto his crown with this unstoppable cut.

i-D Magazine described Patrick’s style "that is characterized by punchy, chugging baselines that have become weapons in the sets of many a DJ." Started his career DJing at the club night Motion in Newcastle, he was quickly snapped up by Jamie Jones, for Hot Creations. Releases on the label and a residency at Paradise DC10 in Ibiza soon followed and 2014 saw him release ‘Get Beasty’, ‘Forget’ and ‘Voicemail’ featuring Green Velvet and concluded with a hattrick of awards including winning the DJ Mag Best Newcomer, Track Of The Season and Best Tune awards in their Best of British Awards.

Well, 2016 was a bit of a mixed bag wasn't it? It's certainly a year that I wont forget in a hurry - for all sorts of reasons - good and bad. However the one common denominator throughout pretty much all of it has been music. Whether its what you turn too to make you happy or whether its the cause of what occasionally makes you sad, there is no denying that music is the one thing that brings us all together to share what is best about being a human. So here's to sharing and caring. We can all do more of both in 2017 but I want to sign off for the holidays by saying a MASSIVE THANK YOU to you all for caring about my music. On the back of their critically acclaimed ‘Oblivion’ EP, from which ‘Sensation’ was named one of the techno tracks of 2016 by Mixmag, Monika Kruse rejoins her brothers-from-another-mother Pig&Dan for another electrifying two-track EP.

Both tracks – ‘Get Me On’ and ‘So Good’ featured in her celebrated debut Essential Mix that aired on April 1 and have highlighted the iconic techno artist’s sets over the past month,  everywhere from Time Warp to her wildly popular b2b with Andrea Oliva at Boiler Room Madrid in March. 

Produced during an inspired couple of days in Mallorca with Pig&Dan in January, both records are explosive techno weapons built for the peaktime and propelled by a stunning warehouse stomp. ‘Get Me On’ is a driving affair from the outset, powered by a compelling mainroom groove that’s gradually immersed in exhilarating cyclone swirls of melody. ‘So Good’ is as delectable as its name, characterized by a roaring buildup that’s drawn out dramatically for much of its 8-minute running time, working in tandem with several carefully deployed breakdowns. Both records are destined to leave a devastating impact at festivals over the summer.
