Ousmane is a friend of ours here in Freiburg, where he came as a refugee in 2019. He first moved from the refugee reception centre in Freiburg to a shared accommodation in Offenburg. This year, he then had to move to Renchen near Offenburg. As he is doing his apprenticeship in Freiburg, this means a 3-hour commute there and back every day. Ousmane would like to move to Freiburg and friends of ours have organized a room in a shared flat for him. But as he can't give notice for his shared container room in Renchen, he has to pay two months' rent. We therefore want to use the profits from this EP to support Ousmane during this time. The overall donation target is €2000 so that he can pay the double rent for 6 months.

Sonically, we strive to experiment by blending our roots with all-around rhythms and instruments enriched with the diversity of the Global South, while participating in contemporary music spaces."

"Our sound draws influences from different types of bass music, tribal techno, jungle and hard drum among others. We have been active since 2022 in southwest Germany, and we have our Berlin debut set on the 2nd of May 2024."

∎ @sepbtt is a co-founder of the @rutamp3 (Germany) and @neo-tropica (Colombia) collectives. SEPBTT is characterized by a percussive and tribal sound as well as the use of polyrhythmic kicks in his productions and sets. Drawing influences from genres such as hard drum, dembow, UK bass, and techno among others, his sound frequently integrates heavy percussions with sci-fi-sounding elements combined under cinematic and somewhat ritualistic atmospheres.

Del Plata es el EP debut del productor, DJ y diseñador audiovisual argentino Manoel Schifani aka Erótica Castro. El cofundador de Santa Sede nos trae un EP digno de las pistas de baile latinoamericanas con seis temas rítmicos llenos de ritmos convincentes. 

 Una obra inspirada en la Batalla de la Vuelta de Obligado del siglo XIX donde tropas de la provincia de Buenos Aires detuvieron a la escuadra anglo-francesa con largas y pesadas cadenas que evitaban que los barcos navegaran con facilidad y de repente se convirtieran en un blanco fácil para ser quemado.

Microhm presents "Entrelazada," a five-track EP that delves deep into contemporary sound design. In this project, the Mexican artist deconstructs and rebuilds rhythms of the Latin diaspora, pushing genres like dembow, reggaeton, dancehall, and cumbia into uncharted territories. With a minimalist and futuristic approach, each track immerses the listener in meticulously synthesized soundscapes, where electronic textures and latent pulses blend to create an auditory experience that challenges club conventions, straddling the line between the classic and the avant-garde.

This EP also features 6 stunning remixes by Zutzut, Imaabs, Lyo XS, Ruiseñor, Entrañas, and Benfika + Pegaso. Every track has been carefully mastered by Imaabs, with cover art by Sofia Papadopoulos.

Spontaneous, abrasive and uninhibited, 'ULTRABODY' is a bold step into the unknown for Francesco Leali, a suite of distorted widescreen soundscapes and puckered soundsystem reductions that prioritize the joy of creation itself. The Italo-Canadian producer and composer has built up a sturdy reputation for himself over the last few years with a series of meticulously crafted and conceptually rigorous albums, EPs and collaborations. Last year's 'Let Us Descend', for example, was an obsessive deconstruction of religious themes that subverted compositional norms and quite understandably took time to conceptualize and systematize. In contrast, 'ULTRABODY' emerges from Leali's desire to challenge himself and think differently, to escape the self-doubt and burnout that all too often comes from compulsive writing and rewriting. This time around, Leali instead worked quickly and economically, refreshing his entire process by tackling radically different musical forms and trading neatness and constant revision for chaos, serendipity and raw, messy ingenuity.
