When we asked Pegassi to make a mix for us, he said yes immediately. With more than 3 months to the deadline, he chilled. A little too much, and he missed the date.

Determined to get it done, Pegassi packed his DJ setup, took it on a flight to Berlin, and recorded the mixtape in his hotel room in one take before playing at a gig. The result is a raw, authentic blend of his favourite tracks at the moment, including some personal favourites he’s been blasting in the car. We love it and Pegassi loves it too and we both got a fun story to share

The mix showcases Pegassi’s current top picks, moving effortlessly across genres. From high-energy techno to house, and even some of Pegassi’s own unreleased material, it’s a snapshot of what’s been inspiring him lately. The spontaneity of the one-take hotel room recording adds a unique and unfiltered edge to the set.

Pegassi is the musical persona of Sam Huybrecht from Antwerp, Belgium. He first gained attention when his remix of ‘No Type’ shot to #1 on SoundCloud’s global charts. His sound blends techno, trance, house, and hip-hop, and has caught the attention of industry heavyweights like Anetha, Patrick Mason, TRYM, VTSS, and Joyhauser.

Pegassi has performed at major events such as Intercell, Modul’air, Die Rakete, and the legendary Pukkelpop festival. His track ‘Yoyoyo’ became a club anthem, earning support from top DJs including Solomun and Joris Voorn.

BCCO Mix Series 442: Pegassi

Two hours of techno, electro, and trance euphoria from @ki_slash_ki on the Warsaw leg of the Mixmag x Burn Energy Tour 2024.

The second stop on the Burn Energy Tour 2024 put focus on the Polish capital with a full throttle line-up headlined by Dutch master of euphoria KI/KI, followed by Sept, Hekato and Ola Tecks at the spectacular Palace of Culture and Science.

The Burn Energy Tour’s lens on Warsaw’s nightlife is a testament to the game-changing work being achieved in the city, with promoters and collectives like Narocz 13, Tainspotting, Oramics and INSTYUT, and clubs such as Smolna, Luzztro and Jasna 1, forging a distinct musical identity in the city that is the best it's ever been.

In the daytime, Mixmag and Burn presented a workshop with The Blu Mantic interviewing Sept, Ola Teks and Cyryl on the topic of 'How to run your own club night'. Through their own parties such as DUEL and Move Mózg, these artists have changed the landscape of Warsaw’s dance music scene, throwing parties in interesting and offbeat locations, pushing new sounds to the fore, standing for inclusive values, and opening the minds of the next generation. Practical advice was given on how to conceptualise and build your own events, helping to inspire new members of the club community and progress the future of the scene with fresh energy.

Warsaw was the second stop on the Burn Energy Tour 2024, following the debut event in Budapest with additional stops set for Italy and Spain.

Our first show in Copenhagen in 8 years was a dizzying showcase of the city's love for hard and heady techno with Vel, David Löhlein and DJ Swisherman.

'Biianco is one of the most exciting talents to have broken through in recent times. They are a producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist with a bold, bright take on techno, but are also on a mission to uplift their neurodivergent and disabled community. Their body-positive bangers have come on labels like Ultra Records and alongside the venerated Marlon Hoffstadt while their hybrid club sets are full of innovation.  

Here we speak about the impact that moving from their native LA to London had on Biianco's sound, what makes a collaboration the right fit and what dance music can still improve on when it comes to involving the differently-abled community in the scene. Liverpool-born Entasia’s journey in electronic music has already been pretty wild. After first coming up on his local scene, he moved to Australia, initially for six months, but has remained there for five years. The switch had a big impact on his sound and now he's at the forefront of the high energy hard house scene and has already dropped a big tune this year with 'Mona'. It's a great example of how the man born Adam Rylands mixes up old school influences with new school thinking and he plans to follow it up with at least one every month for the rest of 2025.

In this interview, the ever more prominent DJ and producer talks about running his two labels, Transition and TNT, shares insights into his creative process, gear setup and much more. Alongside that is his Terminal V podcast which is 90 minutes packed with big and bouncy beats, rushes of euphoria and slamming grooves that demand your finest moves.

SWART grew up in the Belgium scene, which has always been at the forefront of high-energy sounds from rave to techno. Years after first parting as a teenager, he is now established as a tehaon talent in his own right with a sound that is trance-infused and hypnotic. He's dropped plenty of it on the likes of VAGUE and Selected (Berlin), and it is all written on Ableton. He's such a wizard with it, he recently hosted a first-ever masterclass to share all aspects of his creative process.

This summer he'll be busy playing the likes of Pisiboat, Extrema Outdoor, Duro Festival, Fuse, Bootshaus and more, and promises lots of new music is on the way. Before that he's dropped a signature mix and let us in on his early roots into the scene, his views of AI, what gear he favours and plenty more.
