It’s a big family affair as four OEW favourites gather on the latest record. Full squad manoeuvres as the quartet of Priori, Eversines, O'FortyFour and Reflex Blue assemble to do some serious damage.

The four-pronged outing kicks off on a proper heads-down tip. Coming thru with thebliss-out, widescreen pads and locked-in groove, NAFF founder Francis Latreille, AKA Priori, sets pace with the sort of track you can imagine inducing trance states at 4 AM. Eversines, on the other hand, opts for a more buoyant kind of flex. Heralding the golden era of early ‘90s acid house, ’Vigilance' retains the hypnotic qualities of its predecessor. Radiant gear.

Serving big electro accelerators, the next two represent something of a departure. But where O’FortyFour’s rude, elasticated contribution comes replete with insectoid detail, Reflex Blue recalls the finest Motor City hydraulics with a slice of Drexciyan-indebted machine funk.

The situation we’re witnessing in Gaza is heartbreaking. While the world watches, over 30,000 innocent Palestinian people, many of whom were children, have been killed and over 70,000 more injured in attacks since October 7th. Homes, neighbourhoods and cities have been destroyed, and most of the population has been displaced and left without food, clean drinking water, electricity and fuel.  

The UK government has continued to allow Israel’s bombardment in the region and chosen not to back consistent calls for a ceasefire, despite the overwhelming majority of the UK public being in favour. 

In an effort to raise money for Palestinian aid charities, I’ve reached out to lots of talented artists who have kindly contributed their music to this incredibly important cause.  

FREE PALESTINE. 

All proceeds from the compilation will be split 50/50 between two charities who are working hard to provide support and humanitarian aid in Gaza: Medical Aid Palestine and War Child UK.

The duo skillfully balances modular sounds and shimmers through acid synthesizers with their signature style. Offering a wide range of sounds from uptempo half-beat to raw, energetic techno-trance, inviting you into a mesmerizing sci-fi universe. The EP features tracks like “Tetris Life” and “A Glass of Coke with Ice”, that explore underground ambient deserts and immersive jungle improvisations. This is followed by dark and slow breakbeat cuts that transition into faster-paced, floating atmospheric IDM tunes. The 12’’ contains many choppy old-school loops and uptempo trance breakdowns, as in “Orange Button’’ and “Wrong Stability”. ‘WAR1209’ finds Ukrainian artist shjva inducing trance states across an album equal parts tripped-out and dubby. Spanning brooding lysergic visions and locked-in dance floor hypnosis, expect drowsily impressionistic soundscapes and darkly cinematic gear across the 9-track duration. Total sonic immersion for the oddballs and the freaks.
 
Terraforming uncharted alien terrain, tracks like ‘X-Side’ and ‘Upper Limit’ descend into sprawling, widescreen exploration. Fathomless landscapes serving as vessels for deep introspection. ‘Enigmatic’, on the other hand, opts for detail and precision-tooled dynamics while retaining that same wide-eyed sense of wonder. Where ‘Dragonfly’ offers fractal fuel for ceremony and ritual, ‘Cloudhopping’ and ‘Psy-Fi Alien Dub’ wade knee-deep through some dub techno murk. Saving the direct and tunnelling for last, 'Banshee' and 'Chrysalis' are like two sides of the same proggy coin; one ominous, the other more optimistic and utopian.

Terra Magica Rec. is firmly based in Munich and founded by Tom Sprenger and Mirko Hecktor. The spirit of Terra Magica Rec. is to share underground music from heavy, slow and trippy to rough, distinct catchy dance floor oriented rhythms. The label bosses Tom and Mirko operate under their moniker Hektisch Sprengen DJs (In German language the term Hektisch Sprengen basically means blowing up things in a hectic manner). In contrast to this moniker prepare for quite the contrary sound vise: Shimmering synths between mysterious dubiously sounds, dark and slow breakbeat cuts, floaty atmospheric IDM breakdowns and uptempo acid and trance landscapes.
