Influences: My father introduced me to Chick corea, Weather report, Pat metheny and Jaco Pastorius in my early years. While my mother made me connect with ballet and classical music. Later, navigating on my own, I was captivated first by hip/trip hop and later I found that experimental and ambient music really gets me. In my heart there is a very special place for: Boards of Canada, COIL, Beastie boys and Three 6 Mafia.

Advice for the DJs, producers and artists of our community: Do not get lost in the ego on your path, remember that true art comes from the heart if it is pure. That, true beauty, is what makes music transcend. There are already many plastic and fake things in the world, let's do something real again.

DJ Mag has just named them one of their "10 artists you need to hear", they recently dropped a highly anticipated self titled debut EP on their co-owned imprint Infinite Quest Records and their last podcast for Oscillate was picked as "mix of the day" by Resident Advisor. With that being said, I couldn't be happier about this year's ZEMENT podcast season being closed by none other than AUCO. The Berlin-based DJ, producer and gorgeous being stirs up a versatile and brilliantly textured hour of Dubstep, breaks and bass that leaves no doubt about why they are one of the hottest up-and-coming selectors out there. Inspired deeply by the eclectic mixing style of house music’s early DJ’s and his years spent as a dedicated dancer in NYC's queer house/techno scene, Terrence has crafted an approach to music that is tension-heavy, psychedelic and left field yet decidedly soulful. Terrence cut his teeth DJing at house parties, after hours and clubs around NYC including Trans-Pecos, Black Flamingo and Fotografiska’s Chapel Bar. His taste and selections vary from house, disco, techno and electro to assorted strains of UK dance music and are characterized by a distinctively emotive funky finesse tinged with a jacking queer sensibility.

Notes on the mix: I wanted this mix to feel like a trippy, percussive, acid-heavy wormhole with hints of UK influence inspired by my recent move to London.

ABOUT THE MIX: "My approach with this mix was to play with the contrast: between dub and trippy, jacking house and techno, lightness and darkness and to a lesser extent drum machine-made rhythms and live instrumentation. I aimed to give a nice ebb and flow equally fit for a dancefloor as for home listening and hope the mix conjures the emotive, funky, slightly melancholic energy I felt while making it"

The Chicago-based dj, producer, playwright, and writer is a creative force, never shying from her power to amplify the voices of women through her art and music.
