Il Reggimento per impedire la distribuzione delle cartucce ai ribelli, tenterà l'impossibile conquista del fortino. I due amici, per salvare i loro compagni e sopratutto per nascondere al colonnello la grave colpa di suo figlio, riescono a far saltare il deposito delle munizioni. La battaglia è così decisa in favore degli inglesi.

Now here is a map that everyone must know. Put simply this is the greatest and most played map in Half-Life history, the reason? The airstrike of death and some great gameplay to be haf. This map being the first in Half-Life mapping to have the nuclear air strike, it was just so innovative at the time and it has not grown any older since the time of its release.


Weapon placement sees an intelligent layout which deprives people of dominating too much but then, if someone does amass a great number of weapons, they'll soon lose them in an upcoming air strike so this counter balances any domination arguement. Besides the good weapons are nicely spread around the map so a bit of searching around will be required for sure although some of the weapons are in very exposed positions so watch out.Technically, this map runs average r_speeds of about 200 which is a great achievement considering the amount of exquisite detail put into the design of the map. A maximum of just under 600 can be hit if you aree in a high up area but, again, this is a trade off for having the best camping*ahem* sniping points in the map where you can amass a number of easy frags on unwary opponents below. Defend the bunker well and you will be rewarded by the air strike being available for you each and every time, if you don't then you'll be the next target obviously.

For VSTs and DAWs on Windows it's common to use a proper audio interface that comes with proper ASIO drivers, this allows low latency. When you don't have such a device, maybe because you are on your laptop and don't want to bring around an external device 
ASIO4ALL
 is usually recommended.


So here it is a better, more modern solution: FlexASIO . This is a generic ASIO driver as in works even with your onboard soundcard, low latency, shared mode so you can watch a tutorial while you play.


Now restart windows, and you will notice Sonar no longer uses that generic ASIO driver. It makes no difference for Cubase, because you should use the device ASIO driver in stead of a generic driver anyway. Problem solved.


The generic ASIO driver comes in play when there are no real ASIO driver ( onboard audio?), it wraps the wdm to use as ASIO.
Asio4all is another way of doing the same ( never use these hacks for any serious work)


The RealTek ASIO driver is not suitable for DAW use. It is not a generic driver and should be a problem unless you try to use ASIO driver mode with the RealTek chip. It does not matter if this is left in the registry or not just remember to use WASAPI driver modes when using the RealTek chips.





Looking to select the Kemper audio driver from Reaper, I saw no specific ASIO option for the Kemper but only Generic Low Latency ASIO driver - which I tried and it worked immediately with some crackles. I recorded a short test piece into Reaper and playback was audible through the return ASIO driver to the KPA with headphones connected. After updating Reaper to the latest version and restarting the KPA and Rig Manager I tried to set the same arrangement up and the only audio output option for the generic low latency ASIO was now the laptop speakers (Realtek) and no option to use the generic low latency ASIO to run audio to the KPA via USB.


In the meantime, is there an ASIO driver with KPA name on it? Reamping would not be possible if the generic driver is the only one available and it is currently one way only (into the computer from the KPA) on my machine after initially being bidirectional. Surely this is not the state in the current release, is it?

 Posted by Patrick O'Keefe - 04 Apr 04:31PM Hide picture I just noticed that Sibelius shows a "Generic Low Latency ASIO Driver" in my list of Audio Interfaces. I have no idea where it came from but Google says it's from Steinberg so maybe it came along with a certain Steinberg notation product I've installed.

I have no pressing need for low latency at the moment but I use ASIO4All anyway. (I've heard it has a low cycle impact.) Is there any particular reason to choose one of these drivers over the other? I haven't found a comparison of the two (but I haven't looked very hard).
