This mix features a lot of tracks that we've had in heavy rotation, some fresh-off-the-press promos and of course our new Perc Trax EP. We're also burning a lot of our favorite combinations that were either carefully planned or happy accidents. The Devroy EP by Robin Wylie is a 4 track EP which takes you on a nostalgic journey through the 90s capturing the early spirit of rave. Made using analogue equipment, this EP is creative, raw, and unique and tells the story of one night in Birmingham.

Opening with My Sound Rude Boy, a 136 bpm breakbeat track reminiscent of the tunes of 1991 complete with whistles, classic rave samples, and a steady driving rhythm which is only interrupted by an emotive hands in the air breakdown - standard - before returning with more force, additional choppy amen heat, cymbal clash and acid warbles. We're on our way straight back to 91 and I think we've found the rave!

"If you want it" that is ........although there was no turning back now. The 2nd track set at 140 bpm is a relentless, intense, explosion of sound on a more techno tip - sound the alarm! With a pounding rhythm and crazy cartoon style samples, this track has got us feeling like we've gone on the Waltzers a bit too soon after smoking a zoot! Sounds, lights, people, action.... exciting!

Out of the fairground we head into the rave. A dark, smoky warehouse with a banging wall of sound! The sounds of "Acid tastes better with you" is blaring out the speakers, a serious yet hypnotic beat filled with acid bleeps that bubble up and down in intensity as lasers cast a fleeting light on the ravers inside dancing til dawn.

Before we knew it, the sun was shining through the windows and people started piling outside! We decided to get some fresh air and see what the fuss was about. Outside we saw a massive rig had been put up and some mad tune around the 158 bpm was going off! A 4x4 stomper with loads of chopped up breaks over calming pads and other mad noises was blaring out the speakers and people were going nuts. This was different - and proper banging too. We looked around at each other in the light of day and smiled. We'd made it! DESIRE 96!

She's an assassin, and we are beyond excited to announce our new Rave Edition resident.  We watched in awe as she dismantled Corsica Studios' Room 1  last Sunday with all the sophistication of a performer well beyond her years. Introducing Melissa D'Lima...

Jaded: Hi Melissa, thank you for recording this hour for the Children Of Jaded. How do you define your sound, and can you tell us about your journey into techno and influences?

Melissa: Thanks so much for inviting me, completely my pleasure to do it for you guys . I define my sound as very fast paced hard and industrial techno. I am influenced by hardcore, gabber and hardstyle music too. My journey into techno started not too long ago about 2 years. I was first listening to more mainstream techno for example drumcode but I quickly discovered the more underground techno scene and realised that I much preferred it. It was actually through Jaded that I discovered industrial and hard techno. I got to know many of my favourite artists through Jaded events and social media. My biggest influences are people like WNDRLST, TRYM, Nico Moreno, ØRGIE, Veta.M, Tyrant, Plexøs.  Their productions are really what inspired me to start everything. 

Jaded: Your “It Hurts To Talk About It“ on the Normative VA is a high intensity industrial weapon! Will there be more released this year and can you tell us about your creative process?

Melissa: Thanks! Yes definitely, I am really focusing on production and now I can say that I love it just as much as I love DJing.  I will release by debut E.P on Scale Trax in April. I’m really excited to release on this label! I have contributed to various artists compilations which are set to come out soon. I am also working on productions with other artists, which is something I always wanted to do. In terms of my creative process it usually takes me around 10 days to finish a track. I try to focus on one main melody and go from there. I like my tracks to show a progression building up towards one main melody and then building down afterwards. The kick is also really important to me, I spend a lot of time to perfect it because for me it defines my style. My set up right now is 100% software so it’s always just me and my laptop, and I guess my emotion at the time that inspires me to create that specific track.

Jaded: We are looking forward to your tenure as Rave Edition resident. What will you be bringing to room one and who would you most like to play alongside this year that you haven't had a chance to (yet).

Melissa: I am so happy and excited to be a Jaded resident and especially for this event. I couldn’t be happier and I am really grateful. I hope to bring a lot of high speed industrial rave techno. I want the rave editions to be extra special and crazy. This is why I think and hope my style works well for them. There are so many artists that I would love play alongside. So many people are shaping the scene right now; Dyen, Oguz, WNDRLST, Nico Moreno, Ørgie, 93Sovage, Mâcka, Axel Picodot, TRYM. It would be my dream to play alongside any of them!

Delivering the 26th podcast for the TNDB-series is, in our opinion, one of the best producers out there, KRTM.

This Belgian producer has been releasing many insane records, fading the boundaries between industrial hardcore and industrial techno. With many admirers in both the hardcore and techno scene, it's not hard to imagine that KRTM has been really establishing himself in the techno the last few years.

As a producer his techno releases have blessed labels like ARTS, Inner Surface Music, PRSPCT, Madback Records (established and run by KRTM & Tripped) and more. Recently KRTM established a more techno orientated sublabel of PRSPCT, where a couple of the sickest (industrial) techno producers have already found their home. Producers like AnD, Ansome, Tim Tama, and Tymon all have followed KRTM's path and delivered insane productions to the SSSPCR sublabel. Just another example of how KRTM's knowledge, vision and sound is very trusted around the (industrial) techno scene.

KRTM's hardcore roots reach even further. As a musician his productions have reached prolific labels like Industrial Strength, and of course, PRSPCT. He has already performed at a couple of the biggest hardcore festivals and events like Defqon, Masters of Hardcore, Qbase, Dominator, Decibel etc.

The same can be said for techno, since KRTM has managed to play many quality events and always claims his spot during the yearly Amsterdam Dance Event. His DJ, hybrid and live sets can be seen as an unparalleled extension of his productions and with his sets he is able to captivate the crowd by hitting them with his clean industrial kicks, but still leaving room for hypnotic melody.

 Enjoy this 3-hour-long surprising mix by a versatile artists with a broad spectrum of electronic music. KRTM is a name already not to be forgotten.
