She’s been also organising “Are You Listening?”, a series of experimental music evenings taking place at Arkaoda Berlin since 2019. Her sets are the space in which hybrid sonic materials, entwined in hidden bonds, gather into an idiosyncratic narration.

Normal People #03 w/ Laura Not @ 20ft Radio - 29/10/2020

A new Phase group Mix from Moscow made for us by Región Salvaje, a revived alias of Russian experimental sound enthusiast Dima Gerasimov aka Jan Fietser.  

Dima is the guy behind the excellent 'Muzak for Cycling' radio show on St Petersburg's Test FM. He has also released music on Towlie's Käften label under the Jan Fietser moniker. Following a recent move from St Pete to Moscow, Dima is focusing his energies these days on recording new music with his band Argonauts. 

This mix was recorded in March on the first day of Lockdowns in Russia, when Dima decided to spend his time digitising the tapes and vinyls from the most unpredictable purchases that he had made in the last few year. What results is an hour of charming and intriguing cassette-world oddities, DIY home recordings and lo-fi Groovebox experiments. Thanks Dima!

For his ‘Rites of Wisdom’ guestmix, Anthony prepared an exclusive gathering of Russian and Ukrainian compositions from the 80s to 2000s. Here you can find radiant new age chants and mesmerizing post-rock ambience, fragile avant-folk passages and healing acoustic string overtones. The result is a soft, pleasant hour with here and there a few hallucinated parts, to keep your mind awake.
