Confession Vol. 2 by Vertex Remedy is a bold, emotionally charged continuation of a journey that began in 2020—a project born from pain, faith, and the healing power of music. Following the release of Confession Vol. 1 in 2021, Vertex dives deeper into the concept of confession, using each track to explore a different struggle we all face: pride, addiction, lust, self-doubt, and more. This isn’t just an album—it’s a statement. A raw, vulnerable offering to the mental health community from an artist who’s openly shared that music and faith saved his life.  The album unfolds like a narrative, with Vertex (Jacob Chavez) in a depressive spiral, called to action by a familiar voice—K4NTR1P—who acts as his conscience, pushing him through the fog with humor and urgency. It’s a story of resistance, of choosing light over darkness, and of turning pain into purpose. Featuring artists from his label Proxinized Rebirth—RYLVX, K4NTR1P, and R3TR0ZO—the project blends early 2000s underground techno nostalgia with the grit of hybrid trap, a genre Vertex has helped shape but now reimagines through the lens of his childhood inspirations.  With 15 tracks and a 45-minute runtime, Confession Vol. 2 is more than a listening experience—it’s a cathartic release, a spiritual reckoning, and a reminder that healing often begins with honesty. For this episode I was joined by the ever lovely Nathan Micay & Peach.
We discussed a lot of really important points such as our desert island food, Nathan's ultimate M&S selection and his love for Les Mis. 

We also spoke about music production don't worry. This included the areas that we still struggle with and also a few tips on dealing with loops and breaks in your tracks.

Lastly we delved deep into our past and played each other some of the first track's that we ever made... It's safe to say we were having a rip roaring old time of it.

The Holding Hands Records Podcast 006 - Nathan Micay, Peach & Desert Sound Colony

Butter Sessions presents Roy Batty Jr’s follow-up to last year's tape Scope Dynamic (Ken Oath) with a four-track digital EP Dash Retention. This release was conceptualised whilst travelling through South America and completed shortly after returning to Summer Hill, Sydney in the summer of 2018. Roy cites the disparate landscapes of Peru and Bolivia as visual influences for his new EP, stating “within one frame there could be a lake, past that sparse fields into plateaus and past that snow-capped mountains, it didn’t make sense.”

Roy’s preference for the field recording returns in this release; many of which came from the trip. He features the sounds of industrial stamped foley to escort disjointed tech-step. The first half of the release is a treat for the vigilant listener, who will be alerted to recordings of a throttling chain saw, shattering glass, and a barking dog, interjected with drum & bass tinged percussion. Gai Hills features an elating melody paired with jerky percussion. It’s dream music but not as you know it.

In contrast, the second half of Dash Retention pulls us gently along the forest floor with its new-age nuance, obvious in the EP’s endnote Treast. As a body, Dash Retention congregates Roy’s jarring visions with twisted rhythms, sometimes staggering structure and bass-heavy production; marking a clever oscillation between styles but separates the EP from the IDM tag.

Heavily involved in pirate radio back in the late 1990's not only as a DJ but also part of the staff team that secured a legal license for the station now known as Unity Radio 92.8 fm, the real sound of the city.
He is the longest serving Dj on the network and his weekly 2 hour mix show is the only dedicated platform for deep house, techno and electro in the North West of England, helping to break brand new music and artists from all over the globe. A highly respected tastemaker and technically gifted Dj whose mixing skills are second to none, a true Dj's Dj. Recently appearing in the DJ Magazine with his featured artist top 10.
Damo B is also a resident Dj for the respected Bohemian Grove night in Manchester, besides, he was seen playing along side  Levon Vincent, Keith Worthy, Amir Alexander, Jane Fitz , Patrice Scott, Chris Mitchell & Amir Alexander, Perseus Traxx, Chicago Skyway, Steven Tang, Mike Huckaby, Miles Sagnia and many more!
Currently running his bi monthly 'Nothing but the truth' events at the legendary Eastern Bloc record store, where he has been joined by the likes of Steven Rutter B12 (Warp Records, B12 & FireScope Records), John Shima (FireScope Records, Subwax Bcn, Common Dreams, Distant Worlds), Auto Sound City (Toni Aslam & Alex Handley) & Iron Blu ( Weapons Of Desire , Somewhere In The North), Murf Woram (Superfreq, The End)
Not happy with just being a Dj, Damo has now delved into the world of music production, alongside with his long time friend and sometimes Dj partner Toni Aslam they are collectively known as Nom De Plume. Their first digital release on S.I.N was the 'A Form of Poison E.p which was received very well.
