The late 80’s early 90s were a crucial period for electronic music, we saw Electro and Acid House develop into Hardcore and Jungle in a short space of time. Each of those genres have stood the test of time and we're now seeing a much welcomed resurgence.

ARJAI says "I wanted this mix to be a nod to that era using modern tunes that take heavy influence from those early pioneers. Big synths, blips, bloops, amens, breakbeats, edits and some of my own tunes all crammed into 40 minutes. This mix features the majority of what I'm feeling musically at the moment. I hope you enjoy as I had a blast making it, crank it up!"

Created specifically for digital platforms, Sonic Cloisters emphasizes the look, feel, and sound of the Cloisters as the inspiration and starting point for new electronic music. Freed from the confines of the dance floor, these artists interact with the Cloisters’ collection, architecture, and environment to explore new creative territory and compositional approaches.
