This playlist contains some of my digital arrangements of classical pieces that are in the public domain. Some of the arrangements stay true to the original score, while others are arranged with different instrumentation.

Classical Arrangements

This is a digital arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from The Nutcracker ballet. This version was based on the original score, with the celesta carrying the melody.

Tchaikovsky - 1812 Overture (Finale)

This is my digital arrangement of the high-energy can-can from Offenbach’s operetta Orpheus in the Underworld. This festive, quirky music is bound to lift even the most dreary of spirits.

Offenbach - Infernal Galop (can-can)

This is the finale of Rossini's William Tell Overture. This section is also known as "March of the Swiss Soldiers." The popular rhythmic pattern is commonly associated with galloping horses both in cartoons and in real life.

This digital arrangement was based on the original score. Instrumentation consists of a piccolo, a flute, two oboes, two clarinets, two bassoons, four french horns, two trumpets, three trombones, timpani, a triangle, cymbals, and section strings.

Rossini - William Tell Overture (Finale)

This is Tchaikovsky’s Russian Dance (or Trepak) from the ballet The Nutcracker. This piece, like many others from the ballet, is commonly associated with Christmas and the winter season. Its upbeat, festive nature inspires both excitement and happiness.

Tchaikovsky - The Nutcracker - Russian Dance

This popular classical march was written by Julius Fucik in 1897, and is often heard today in circus settings to introduce performers. This digital arrangement is for woodwinds (piccolo, flutes, oboes, clarinets, bass clarinet, and bassoons), brass (trumpets, french horns, trombones, and tubas), and percussion (snare drum, bass drum, glockenspiel, and cymbals).

Fucik - Entry Of The Gladiators

This is a digital version of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125 (Movement 2). All virtual instruments used are from EastWest Symphonic Orchestra.

Beethoven - Symphony No. 9 in D Minor; Op. 125 - Movement 2

The first movement of Beethoven's fifth symphony is one of the most well-known pieces of classical music. This digital arrangement is for full orchestra and was based directly on the original score.

Beethoven - Symphony No. 5 in C Minor; Op. 67 - Movement 1

This is the popular pizzicato movement from the ballet Sylvia, composed by Leo Delibes. This digital arrangement stays true to the original score, meaning the instrumentation is unchanged. The pizzicato string parts keep the overall feel of this piece lighthearted and playful.

Instrumentation includes flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, trumpets, french horns, trombones, harp, timpani, and section strings.

Delibes - Sylvia - Pizzicato

This is the heroic second movement of Beethoven's seventh symphony. The strings quietly play the rhythmic theme to open the movement before they are reinforced by the full orchestra.

Beethoven - Symphony No. 7 in A Major; Op. 92 - Movement 2

The Chinese Dance (also known as “Tea”) is a piece from the ballet The Nutcracker, which was composed by Tchaikovsky. This is a fun, happy piece with a bright melody played by flutes and a piccolo. The bassoons and section basses provide a consistent rhythmic foundation throughout. The clarinets enter at the piece’s climax with arpeggiating passages, which add even more happiness to an already joyful track.

Tchaikovsky - The Nutcracker - Chinese Dance (Tea)

This is the full score version of Tchaikovsky’s Dance of the Mirlitons from The Nutcracker ballet. Like most of his other works from that ballet, this one is especially popular around Christmas. The flutes play a sweet, playful melody over light orchestral accompaniment. About halfway through, the brass and strings take over the piece with a more impending tone until the flutes return with the original melody to conclude the piece.
