Hunters in Texas born on or after Sept. 2, 1971 are required to take Hunter Education, or receive an approved one-year deferral, before hunting. 

Steve Hall, Hunter Education Coordinator for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD), says the course can benefit hunters of all ages.
