Texas Recordings Underground presents the second installment of its Halloween series with a digital release as well as a special and limited edition "Cassingle."  A newly found project consisting of label boss Gavin Guthrie (AKA TX Connect) and Christine Hoang.  TRU offers a ghoulish and spooky treat for the Halloween season - two tracks best played during the witching hour and at high volume.

Alamo Basement Tracks Vol 2 does an incredible job of showcasing the diversity and depth of the TX electronic scene. You can definitely tell that label head Gavin Guthrie is a formidable DJ, because the comp seems to be selected and arranged like a set.

There is such a narrative sense of progression from the super-raw sandblasted techno (Marcos Cabral, Sweat and Noise, D'Angelis Dixon) into the battery-acid drenched warehouse jak-vibes of the middle portion (CHGG, Miguel Flaco, Bill Converse), then moving into the deeper shades of late-night dub techno (Mt Borracho, Dylan Cameron, Pro Ghost, ill76), and finally ending up in a garden of juicily hedonistic dreamfruits (Riversiders, Gik, Barbara's Calling, Tones).

Definitely not just another catchall label comp, but a journey worth taking: buckle up, y'all <3!

Newcomer R-Computrax, hailing from Dallas Texas no doubt, provides the B-side with 303, another early Chicago-inspired jack track that has elements of Master C+J synths but takes it to another level with a scathing bass backed with a spoken-word track. Insane? Maybe.

TX Connect’s Ghetto 214 is a Chicago-style jack track Gavin has become known for. Ghetto 214 harkens back to Robert Armani’s Circus Bells and the glory days of Dance Mania. It starts innocently enough but builds into a frenetic track that ultimately destroys you with manic claps and sirens.
