Gantz debuts on Exit Records with two tracks that set him apart from his contemporaries. This release sits perfectly on the label, Gantz has captured the essence of what Exit Records is whilst also moving his artistry further. He delivers two vocal tracks, Garam ft Amos and Rabid ft. Elif Dikec. Amos is a part of A/T/O/S, a duo with a discography that included an album on Deep Medi, Elif Dikec is a classically trained musician and a producer in her own right.

"Lightworks takes its name from a club night Kami-O use to run in Glasgow, and aptly so – it’s music that deserves to be heard on a soundsystem. That’s being said, there are two levels to Kami-O’s latest project. At the same time as it can transport you to the speaker wall of a dark, packed-out basement, it can also be played at volume in your garden without worrying what your new neighbours might think. There’s a melodic overtone that can outshine the dungeonian bass, depending on your mood and speaker settings.

With six tracks including a remix from Argo, Lightworks shows huge versatility, from the sharp consonant sounds of Computers, to the above-the-clouds musings of Aura."

"The basic idea was to build a mix from tracks I revisit a lot as a listener (building from the opening song of the mix). Though very few outside of Richmond, VA have ever seen me play drum and bass or music up at this tempo, this style was an absolutely crucial part of my development as an artist and dj. My first times truly digging through crates of records purely catering to electronic music were at a now closed record shop in Richmond specializing in dnb and house music. Ultimately, I felt like I gained a lot of important knowledge that I could’ve only gained in person by digging or through others in person - especially concerning music that was popular in clubs before I could ever go out to nightclubs. Some of this leans towards the music often called “atmospheric drum and bass” or the styles associated with Ltj bukem in the 90’s and early 2000’s. Other tracks fall more in the realm of record labels like Auxiliary, another sound I find myself enjoying immensely as a listener. 

Therefore, this is a mix made firstly by myself as a fan of drum and bass and higher tempos. It is the sort of mix I would put on for a long drive to enjoy, though it is not the sort of mix I have ever released before this."
