‘Compassion Pit’ is the lead single from the 3rd Texture & Light LP 'Vulture Medicine', and it perfectly embodies what the music of Texture & Light stands for - it is both heavy and light, fit for dancing and for daydreaming. 

Ocean waves give way to weird and wonderful melodic synth lines and analog drum machine beats that invite the listener’s body to sway like care-free seaweed in the tide, while the lyrics paint a story of depth, feeling, pain, and hope. Hazy guitar lines round out the sonic spectrum, providing an anchor in this sea of electronic dreams.

Robert E. Livingood is a multi-media artist, DJ, and producer. His DJ
sets span the territories of new wave, synth, dark disco, minimal, and
post-punk. As a producer, he uses hardware synths as a means to dialog with the forces of wild nature. This process results in experimental dance tracks and lo-fi ambient pieces enveloped in smokey atmospheric layers of sound. Robert has released music on Emerald & Doreen, Divination & Strategy, The Black Lodge, and Ombra INTL. Originally from the late 70s early 80s punk scene in Detroit, Robert now resides in the mountains of western Canada where he studies grizzly bears and organizes cultural events in the thriving art scene of Nelson, British Columbia.

Texture & Light live shows use synthesizers, drum machines, samplers, loopers, voice, and guitar to bring listeners on a fuzzy, deep, slow motion journey to the stars, and deep within themselves.

Trevor’s musical releases have been charted by campus radio stations across Canada, reaching the National Earshot! Electronic chart, the Canadian iTunes Electronic chart, and topping the CBC R3-30.
