The aim was to use a very simple melodic phrase then point the data at lot's of plucky synths and mangle them within an inch of their lives.

Then extracting more data from the outcomes of each sound and piping that into the fx control functions.

Roberto B (@mgxloop and @volt5000) and I are glad to present "Egeia (Oriental Mix)", as track 8 in our collaborative album in progress since the start of 2022. The track was created in collaboration on 29, 30 and 31 August 2021 (initial recording, arrangements and mix in GarageBand and Logic Pro X by Alex M) and 23, 24, 25 and 27 February 2022 (subsequent additions, arrangements, recording and final mix in MAGIX by Roberto B) and posted here on SoundCloud on 27 February 2022 (by Alex M). We have used sound effects from Alex M's own sample of field recordings, namely, Gentle Early Morning Sea Waves (recorded on 26 August 2021, on the beach in the village of Kariani, Aegean Sea coast, north Greece).

The artwork cover is based on a photo taken by Alex M (on 25 August 2021 on the beach in the village of Kariani, Aegean Sea coast, north Greece), cropped and annotated on 27 February 2022 in Preview (Mac OS) by Alex M.

This song features Dave Cooper on vocals and rhythm guitar.  This is a variation on a song I wrote a little while back and placed on YouTube.  I play mandolin and fiddle on this version.  Dave Cooper added new music and melody for the original lyrics.

Do Right Do Wrong (with warfydave)

Several decades ago, a daughter of a middle-class family had disappeared & ended up with her body tossed in a river.
The deceased had 4 siblings that were jealous of her & wanted her inheritance portion.
So, before her 18th birthday the egomaniac sisters decided to get rid of her. 
In a plot to drive the victim crazy, they failed. The wicked sisters then contrived a plan to ensure that their desires would be fulfilled by their own maniacal methods. They would invite their target to go swimming. 
...Except, when they all joined together under the guise of family love, they strangled & drown their innocent sister. 
Now the body has come to the surface & is discovered by fishermen out boating. The sisters do not yet know they will now be hunted for custody. 
The strange thing about the murder case is that the other relatives were found to be in on the death, too. Greed was an obvious malefactor set to create demise, but there was far more of a dark secret that was the motive for doing away with the one sister. What did the deceased know that she shouldn't have?
The authorities have a tough road ahead of them as they cut through a thick 'wall' of family feigned charm turned fatal.

A track that was initially going nowhere (you could argue at over eight minutes long with about a single change it still does that...) but kept demanding to be made into something. So I did. Did not end up how I expected, which is part of the joy of this. Into double digits for tracks now, and almost double digits for run time. Maybe one day I'll write a sub-five minute long song again.
