i know i feel it in the times that we’re kickin’ it together, not concerned by others’ ways.

and never getting tripped up by the ever-shrinking space between a place to mind our own and the time to meet halfway.

our fears they might be different, but the important thing i think, is that the ways that they affect us feel so wonderfully in sync.

if better days are camped across the creek - a blocked off passage and a dam upstream - we’ll just hike up both our pants, and dampen down our feet. a creek-bed’s just a hiccup, since we tried to swim the sea.

i’ll find i think about the years before we had the thought to rediscover all the threads that led to tie this handsome knot - and if we could do it different, would the line remain as taut?

i’ll never say that i was perfect, and i don’t think you could too, but lining up our timing was the best that we could do. if momentary lapses could collapse this at our feet, we’d have been crushed by all our troubles long before we’d ever meet. way back when all we did was try to figure out each other, and all we had to do was take some time to figure out ourselves.
