Cleveland, Ohio native, Orlando Watson is a lyricist who’s soulful, baritone voice weaves through words with uncanny rhythmic delivery. His début project titled “Everything’s Personal” garnered national attention and propelled him to open for Chantae Cann and Lalah Hathaway’s perspective tours in 2018. His distinctive voice and unorthodox wordplay have led him to share the stage with world-class acts such as: Terence Blanchard, Dominic Farinacci, Braxton Cook, Damien Sneed, Jessica Caremoore, and Tye Tribbett to name a few. Watson currently serves as the Associate Director for the Tri-C JazzFest where he’s crafted a creative writing workshop called “UNDERSTANZA” to show high school students the rich intersections that connect Spoken Word Poetry, Hip-Hop and Jazz. Orlando’s passion for faith, family, community and culture are always reflected in his art, as he sees himself as a bridge between social barriers built to further divide humankind.
