The heavy beats of Aphex Twin coupled with the epic story-telling of Sephiroth...  What's not to love?

amazing atmosphere of big old industrial buildings.

This is a nice mid range section here, it counterbalances and compliments the heavy percussion before and after.

A track written for my own healing. 
Life isn't perfect. We all have issues, big and small, and we cope with them in our own ways.
Writing music gets me through mine.
I dedicate 'Existence'  to anyone who needs an extra bit of strength in their life.

DESTINY'S DOOR - BLEEDING FINGERS CONTEST - TRANSLUNAR ENTRY!!

This track is my entry into the OraMIX Science museum competition.
The competition is now closed, thanks to all those who voted for me.

The track is composed from a combination of the stems supplied and various VSTi's and FX.
The dominant feature of the track is intended to be the monster beat which I took from the original stem set.
The massive, booming sound and slow tempo of the beat is intended to represent some kind of sonic giant stomping across a strange and desolate audio landscape.

For those who are interested and unfamiliar with Daphne Oram: (Courtesy of wikipedia)
"Daphne Oram (31 December 1925 – 5 January 2003) was a British composer and electronic musician. She was the creator of the "Oramics" technique for creating electronic sounds.

In 1959 she installed her Oramics Studios for Electronic Composition in Tower Folly, 
a converted oast house at Fairseat, near Wrotham, Kent.  Her output from the studio, mostly commercial, covered a far wider range than the Radiophonic Workshop, 
providing background music for not only radio and television but also theatre and short commercial films.

Besides being a musical innovator her other significant achievements include:
1) Being the first woman to direct an electronic music studio,
2) The first woman to set up a personal studio and 
3) The first woman to design and construct an electronic musical instrument."

In terms of the track title, (again from wikipedia) "in Classical Antiquity, an oracle was a person or agency considered to be a source of wise counsel or prophetic predictions or precognition of the future." From what I have read, I believe she was well ahead of her time and a true pioneer.

th3-v0rt3x - Oram's Oracle [OraMIX Competition Entry]

"If life is but a dream then make sure it's a happy one....." 
It all started many years ago at University with an Amiga, a copy of Protracker and a hardware sampler. With influences including The Orb, The Shamen, The Prodigy and everything electronic in between hopefully you'll find something in here that you like. All of the photos on the artwork are either sunsets or the sun rising in places I've visited or near where I live. The idea behind it all is supposed to be that (in my head anyway) my sounds take me to a place of tranquility and peace. I always feel that way when I see a spectacular view of the sun. 

I was recently lucky enough to connect with Pete Farmer from RedSeaDanceRecords (http://soundcloud.com/redseadancerecords) who has now released my first album "Dream States" under his label.
For anyone who is interested it is on all the usual online stores. Check out the track previews on my spotlight tab, there are Beatport links there too.
