In April of 2016, SFR announced the signing of Cas One Vs Figure. Since that time, Cas has gone through some life changes, and wanted to share a piece of his journey with you.  Words from Cas about "Happy Anniversary": 

"My name is Jacob. When I rap my name is Cas One. I am going through a divorce. 

Today October 27th is my anniversary. To say the least it has been the worst experience of my life. I don't know how to deal with it and I don't know that there is a way to do it effectively. 

However, I find writing about it to at the very least to be cathartic. I've probably written an albums worth of material about it. I've recorded a few songs. Songs that won't ever come out because they're too angry or too honest about the wrong things to be honest about. This song is not like those songs. 

You'll find this recording to be absolutely stripped down. This is not how it appears on the [upcoming] album. I think it was essential to release it this way because it's the most personal way that I can think to release it. I'm not trying to over saturate you with some artistic meaning of why I am releasing it this way first....but it felt right and in the simplest explanation, it is by far the most personal and most emotional thing I've ever released. 

If you're new to my material I don't know that this is a good starting point. If you're familiar with my material I think that our bond will grow deeper because of it. 

Not a lot has kept me afloat this year... but you all and this album Josh and I are making have most certainly helped. I hope you never go through this. But...  if you are or you have we are in the same club. It gets easier. It gets better. It becomes less cumbersome. Time does a lot. This is a Polaroid of a moment in time."
