Diving deep into the heavenly, surreal universe of the German duo Trashlagoon and their first release on Délicieuse.

The title 'Struggle' is the leading single extracted from their album 'Blue Empire' set to release January 2014. Sebastien and Niklas deliver us a sleek and euphoric sound, supported by the effectiveness of the piano gimmick. We admire their powerful yet subtle identity, a crossroads between UK garage and German deep house influences.

Madmotormiquel, commander in chief of the leading label URSL (Soukie & Windish, NU, Lake People, etc.) honors us by taking on a spin of the title. His personal touch brings a new energy to the original, with a backdrop of a racing deep house beat. Supported by names like Hannes Fischer, Nico Stojan, and Rampue.. this track already proves to be promising.

Our man, Viken Arman, reinterprets the title in a romantic and dreamlike way, utilizing his signature "pianistic" style (the harpsichord). Once again, we’re blown away by the quality of his production. Always polished and in accordance with the original track’s approach.

This release well identifies with the duo’s universe that they’ve since portrayed in their August release of "Daily Winter". For the upcoming months we’ve got only good things in store : a live exclusive in Paris, another single set for November, and a vinyl release exclusively available on the Délicieuse..

Anyone who's seen http://soundcloud.com/tillvonsein DJ will attest to what an excellent selector the Berlin talent is. His productions see him jump from his house music core to hip-hop and R&B-influenced downtempo jams and all inbetween, and have helped him to build up a formidable discography. Part of the SUOL family run by Chopstick & Johnjon that flies the flag for German house music, he's also graced the likes of Pets Recordings, Dirt Crew and Supplement Facts and continues to push a resolute quality-not-quantity ethos. Touching on his myriad soul, disco and funk influences across this retrospective mix that spans five years of productions, he brings his musical world to life in vivid colours.

*How would you describe your sound?*

Well, that's always a tough one. I would always call it house music. Sometimes deep, sometimes funky, sometimes soulful and sometimes tech or even progressive but in the end it´s always house...
but besides that there is always some R&B, some dub, dope beats and some electronica-inspired productions. I guess I'm not that typical stick-to-one-genre kinda artist.

*What and who inspires you and influences your sound?*

Travels, friends, music.

*Can you tell us a little about this mix and what it means to you?*

I never tried playing live or putting a mix of only my own tracks together so this is a new experience for me. It's kinda hard to just find the perfect balance within 60 minutes sometimes, and it's even harder when it has to be only your own material and it's the first time you ever try it.

Der ausgebildete Jazztrompeter und Blaswandler, sowie Komponist und Produzent Thalstroem ist zur Zeit vorwiegend mit AKA AKA, sowie in unregelmäßigen Abständen mit LAN und in Kombination mit Grambow unterwegs. 

Thalstroem ist seit Ende der 1990er Jahre als Berufsmusiker tätig. Während seines Musikstudiums in München und Amsterdam (2000-2005) wirkte er u.a. an Großproduktionen wie „A Tribute to Diversity“ mit. Er bewegte sich zu Beginn noch vorwiegend in der Jazzszene, es dauerte jedoch nicht lange, bis auch sein Interesse für elektronische Produktionen geweckt war. 

Thalstroem lebt und arbeitet seit 2005 in Berlin, wo er zunächst wesentlicher Bestandteil des LAN-Kollektivs war.

Seit seinem ersten gemeinsamen Auftritt im März 2010 mit Hannes und Holger, ist Thalstroem regelmäßiges Mitglied des Live Sets von AKA AKA. Schon bei der Vorbereitung auf ihren ersten Gig zeichnete sich eine gute musikalische Zusammenarbeit ab; erste gemeinsame Produktionen sind bereits fertig gestellt, viele weitere derzeit in Arbeit. Auf ihr erstes Konzert im Watergate (Berlin) folgten zahlreiche erfolgreiche Abende in verschiedenen Clubs verteilt über ganz Deutschland, z.B. im Tresor (Berlin), in der Arena (Berlin), der Roten Sonne (München), dem Rote Sonne Openair (München), der Winterworld 2011 (Wiesbaden) u.v.m... Zahlreiche weitere Gigs für 2011 sind ebenfalls bereits bestätigt, darunter neben Berlin auch Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Rosenheim, Köln, Flensburg, Erfurt, und viele weitere Städte.

Den Grundstein für die Kooperation mit dem Pianisten, Komponisten und Produzenten Grambow legten die beiden schon während ihrer Studienzeit in Amsterdam. Gemeinsam traten sie u.a. mit dem DJ Kollektiv „WickedJazzSounds“ auf und leisteten ihren Beitrag zu diversen Veröffentlichungen und Produktionen im Jazz-Bereich; in erster Linie verband sie jedoch ihre immer größer werdende Leidenschaft für elektronische Musik und deren Möglichkeiten. So beschlossen sie, nach Beendigung ihres Studiums im Jahr 2005 nach Berlin zu ziehen, wo sie gemeinsam mit einer Reihe weiterer Musiker LAN gründeten, eine Formation, die es sich zum Ziel setzte, elektronische Musik live zu performen. Im Gegensatz zu Grambow ist Thalstroem heute zwar kein festes Mitglied mehr von LAN, bei Studioproduktionen sowie live (z.B. auf der Fusion 2010) wirkt er in unregelmäßigen Abständen jedoch weiterhin mit.
