"Raw Charles” was a little sketch I had going last year, and when I finished the “Here Come The Bastards Remix” for Primus I wanted to add something truly ridiculous at the end, so I asked Les if I could include a random piece of one of my songs on it as like an unexpected bonus of sonic brutality. He liked the idea. So for this release, I wanted to include “Raw Charles” all by himself.

Slipping us into sleep mode this week is the sound of NY producer Praveen Sharma aka Braille. Also making beats as one half of the dreamy duo Sepalcure, Braille is no stranger to a beautiful beat. Having already released on the likes of Rush Hour Records and Scuba’s Hotflush imprint, Braille ventures into the deep and occasionally melodic realms of house and techno. His Everyone’s Crazy EP dropped last month via Friends Of Friends and has today announced his debut Mute Swan LP on the label. After some of his outstanding physical releases on the blazing record labels GourmetBeats, Infernal Sounds and Well Rounded Dubs, it was just about time for the Bristolian artist to steal the spotlight of the international dubstep scene once more. "Transient Audio’s ‘TRANS003’ release titled ‘Ancient Tribes’ suggests a mysterious path, which holds true through all three tracks. In regards to melody and harmony, Sepia transcended the usual distinction between happy and sad – going for a distinctively insoluble vibe that leaves just the right amount of space. Held together through sparse instrumentation, he knows how to infuse a groove with great percussive variation – perfectly complementing his distinctive flow."

"‘Vacant’ starts off with cascading vinyl-esque noise circulating throughout the track, displaying the producer’s polished sense of space. The sub is crawling and winding itself below the surface only to occasionally allow mid-range jaunts to pass through, intensifying throughout the arrangement – and providing a highly effective contrast to the otherwise sparsely occupied frequencies. ‘Ancient Tribes’ in turn continues with otherworldly melodies fusing themselves through clever filter movements. A driving rhythm enforces the old aesthetics of dubstep in ways; coupled thanks to an invigorating snare and smooth bass excursion – churning out the kind of wobbles everyone know and love. The last title called ‘Consequence’ is definitely one of the heaters of the EP – as rich sounding string instrument samples pluck away – leaving the listener’s mind spinning, trying to decipher this track’s way of expressing itself. It has elevated Sepia’s style of production, something we can all expect from one of UK’s rising stars."
