Throughout the series Rudeus always tries to hold himself accountable, he doesn't want to revert to his past self so he tries his hardest to be the best version of himself. He still makes mistakes despite this, but this only adds to his character and aids in his growth. 

And through all of Rudeus's experience in this world he's grown exponentially. Being able to turn his life around and gaining the things he's always wanted, Rudeus lived his live to the fullest. With no regrets after dying, thus the chapter closes on the story of Rudeus Grayrat.

I love this guy, man. I get why people hate him, whether it be from familiarity or a lack of understanding. But I never could. Never. Subaru Natsuki is amazing in every sense of the word, and is an inspiration to the strength behind humanity. The complexity of his character, mixed with his relatable sense of self-satisfaction, alongside his inability to become strong - his problems being hard to solve, having to suffer with no real easy answer - is just how life is. For some of us.

How could I ever hate Subaru Natsuki, when I myself am the lowest of the low? I do not hate myself for what I am, or what I do... But for what I haven't done, and I fail to be.
