Following up their debut UK tour taking place in October 2025, PHWOAR return with this blistering rock exploration of national irony. The song, underpinned by the band’s signature sardonic lyricism, is an indictment of modern capitalist Britain and the governing individuals who are responsible for its mismanagement. 
The song was inspired by the Pleasure Island of the original Pinocchio film by Disney, which people visit for the hedonism but turn into donkeys after staying too long. It examines the disconnect between that carnivalesque façade and the decaying reality of this particular Pleasure Island, and yet the love the band has for the place nonetheless. As though it may not be beyond hope just yet. Because without a ray of hope, it just wouldn’t be a PHWOAR song.
