"\Suspensions\ is inspired by how I experience time on the dancefloor. A space where the drums, rhythms and relationships between each song creates an illusion of time being suspended. I’ve been there many times, and it gives me space to experience instead of focus on what is around me, how I present or how to participate. Just as time tricks the ears, this mix pays homage to the 303s, 808s and drums inspiring me to engage with the dancer behind the booth. I especially enjoy how this mix takes its time, letting the previous track melt into the next and create something new. Something I always enjoy doing in live settings. In between the play with drums &  rhythm is a salute to the evolving landscape of dance music among people of color. I am really pleased to present this bit of how it all sounds to me."

There is time to admire the beauty in all things, a theme that NY-based DJ, Niyah West, aims to explore in her practice. Raised on the soulful roots of house music in central Jersey, Niyah has always made an effort to create likeness in her blends. This has given her much ability to showcase the many styles of music that inspire her to connect with people on the dancefloor. House is home, but you may find her going through rhythmic trips between spirited acid synths, techno and back to home base where it all truly began. Vinicius Honorio brings us Rio de Janeiro's hustle and bustle rhythms, where the sun kisses the golden sands and the waves sway to a samba beat, portraying a clandestine gathering beneath the moonlit, where techno-groovy takes on a life of its own.

The producer and DJ weaves a tapestry of beats—raw, primal, and an electric funk carioca, intertwines with techno's futuristic pulse. The atmosphere is thick with anticipation, and the Brazilian beats sync with the bassline.

Acid lines intertwine with dub echoes, the talking vocal effect hits hard and very well, and the episode's rhythm transcends, echoing its British spirit in and out of the rough, raw edge of the mix. The samba pulse meets the breakbeat shuffle; the funky rubs shoulders with UK garage. 

And here, between the pulsating grooves bridged by vibrant influences of Rio's roots and London's urban sprawl, a metaphysical bridge of sound emerges, an invisible thread connecting souls across continents moving in unison, celebrating the fusion of music and culture, with their bodies sways translating into the universal language of rhythm, speaking in bass drops and hi-hats.

A pounding redouble final, powerful whip-like synth stabs, alongside a relentless percussive flow, a trace in contrast to the tribal drums and the groove reverberates a transient response.

The Art of Vinicius Honorio is a testament to freedom, resilience, and reinvention. London's techno legacy thrives, where the dancefloor is a pilgrimage on warehouses transformed into sonic sanctuaries, a melting pot of club culture, united by the four-to-the-floor kick.

Let's dive into a banger fun episode, that will for sure move the dancers during his promising expression, and whether you find yourself dancing in the middle of a rave or drifting in city labyrinthine alleys, remember: right beat knows no boundaries and we are the representation of it.

With a storied history in DJing and producing, starting in Rio de Janeiro as a D’n’B selector before settling into London’s technosphere, the Brazilian producer pens dark and dubby textures. 

Delivering releases on his label, Liberta Records as well as the likes of Blueprint, Modularz, Mord and Token, Vinicius productions display his penchant for trippy and foreboding techno whilst encapsulating the energy and passion that have come to be synonyms with his style.

Sam Coates took to techno like a diligent pupil, falling in love with the genre through labels like CLR in the late '00s. It didn't take long for the student to surpass his proverbial teachers. Almost immediately, the Manchester native was putting out pitch-perfect, functional techno records with everything intricately balanced. The requisite move to Berlin only sealed his fate as a future techno luminary, and by now, based in Kyiv, he's one of techno's most reliable, yet exciting, workhorses. Setaoc Mass records (and those on his label, SK_eleven) are minimalist but colossal, deceptively simple but not easy to pull off. 

We've praised him in these pages for his "sense of economy—how to get the hardest impact out of just a few elements," and that's the idea behind his RA Podcast as well. Put together from records old and new, and intricately layered, Coates's mix is like a time-travelling wormhole connecting disparate eras from techno, and highlighting the genre's most timeless attributes: mechanistic rhythms, careful pacing, rudimentary melodies made out of the strangest sounds and, of course, the power of the bass drop. It's hard to imagine anything that sounds more capital-T techno than this mix, which is a high compliment. It's easy to hear why his records and DJ sets are only more in demand from techno heads across the geographical and generational spectrum.
