For much of the past two decades,  Paris Pompor has been eeking out a living as a freelance music journo, whilst also running the Groovescoooter label. The label began as a radio show on Sydney's Eastside FM back in 1997 (continuing to this day) and in betwixt, Paris has also presented shows on SBS (Alchemy) and FBi (The Album Show). In between regular DJ gigs around town, and hosting his excellent weekly radio show "Jumping the Gap" on Sydney's 2ser, he found time to get busy in the studio for us. "Just over a year ago, Glaswegian party-starters Shaka Loves You joined forces with festival-friendly funk breaks imprint Goodgroove to launch the Disco Series. This belated follow-up is as on-point as its predecessor and contains four-more chunks of fun-time, disco influenced workouts smothered in live instrumentation. We're particularly enjoying the hard-wired funk guitars, rising horns and insatiable vocals of "Dance, Dance, Dance", though throaty edit-not-edit "Ridin' High" - all hard-wired synth bass, shuffling house beats and P-funk flourishes - is also superb. The bouncy, dance-until-you-drop craziness of "In My Soul" (a largely instrumental edit of a well loved early '80s disco smasher) and jaunty opener "My Love" complete a fine package.”

Paris Groovescooter has been a servant of music, culture and art in Sydney for decades. As a journalist,label owner, curator, Broadcaster and yes, DJ and producer he has been a major part of the creative pulse of the inner city. His weekly show on  2ser, "Jumping the Gap", is an essential listen for the latest in disco, funk and worldly rhythms. 

Paris has been contributing to NAE since volume, and this is probably his best yet.
"After all the beats we've been through" is a playful and groovy pastiche of cut up samples and block-party funk vibes. DJ's needing to get to the bar will be grateful with the generous length of this 10 minute epic.

Paris Groovescooter - After All The Beats We Been Thru

Fisher debuted “Ya Kidding” at the beginning of the Summer and it took a life of it’s own. It was perpetually in the top 10 for months, one of the most Shazamed tracks in Ibiza & UK through the festival season, took over multiple chart positions around the globe, and included an official video featuring an epic shoe-off, and became one of the biggest songs of 2017. 

With a track that strong as your first record, it was going to be a hard act to follow. Fortunately, Fisher’s sophomore release “Oi Oi” puts all those fears to rest. 

Leading off the EP is “Stop It”—the already infamous ‘roller coaster song’ that fans ask us about daily. The marriage of the track’s bassline and one sentence verse combine for an attention-grabbing single that raises the energy exponentially no matter where it’s played.

“Ya Didn’t” adds a funky bass bounce to a heavy synth stab, and a big buildup that cements Fisher’s reputation as a monster of the party.
