DJ Meem has a long and storied career within the Australian music scene, going back to the 1990s. One of the most versatile DJ’s and producers in the country, he is constantly in demand in Sydney, and beyond, playing his eclectic sounds, ranging from disco, jazz, rhythm and blues, funk, soul and electronica. He also is currently host of Australia’s longest running dance music programs, “Back to Funk”, on 2ser out of Sydney.

Born 1976 (offical year of the funky child) and bred in Melbourne, Sard Boogie started out as an Mc under the name "Sard" in the early 90's Producing and performing many live show's with ru C.L, Rema, Ill Kane, Dj Fx, Dj Excel and International act"Mystik Journeymen". From 1993-1996 a member of the Melbourne Based crew"Ruffnexet" , including interstate show's, an appearance on ABC tv, Numerous Live performances on Melbourne radio shows "Steppin 2 tha am" "Tha Formula" and the roof tearing show @ the renowned Hip hop reggae venue "Big Bamboo" in 1995. Performing as a solo artist playing live show's at Revolver, The Croft, 303 and Honky Tonk's to Name a few, also as a resident Dj at "Suede" and"White Rabbit" with "Fabric Soul's" Playing Funk, Rare groove, Break's, Hip hop and whatever else floats his boat. Sard Boogie has a strong Hip hop background but this dose not stop him from freakin the funk in other genres, whether it's in his sets or with his own production.

Dastardly Kuts has been bringing his mashed up blend of disco/ funk and party style house, breaks and hip hop to Australia for the past ten years. In this time he has played every state in the country, supporting a plethora of big name artists from all over the dance music spectrum, warming up the stage for the likes of Hybrid, Stanton Warriors, A.Skillz, Deekline, Featurecast, Lady Waks, The Beatnuts, Stickybuds, All Good Funk Alliance, Philly Blunt, Butterfingers, Scribe, Urthboy, Sampology, Tom Drummond and Slynk and in the process has gained a reputation of being one of Australia's premier party starters.

Dastardly Kuts has also cemented himself as a quality headliner in his own right, moving dance floors with his no nonsense style, effortlessly gliding between genres yet always retaining a backbone of pure, unadulterated funkiness. He was a regular at international club night Regrooved and has had his fair share of festival gigs including multiple appearances at Blah Blah Blah, Brisbane's iconic Caxton St Seafood and Wine Festival and Bris-Fest. With regular slots at some of Queensland’s tastiest venues such as Cloudland, Solbar, Laruche, Zuri, Press Club, Empire and Birdee Num Nums one thing is guaranteed, when DKuts is supplying the tunes you are in for a funking good time.

I grew up in a house where instead of watching television we would sit around as a family and listen to my dad play records. As a very serious collector he would often take me to record fairs from the age of about 8 years old. You could say an apple never falls far from the tree, except where my father sought out obscure 60's british rock, I seek out good quality music from musicians that played from the heart, be they jazz, soul, reggae, afro, folk or what ever.
I started djing locally in the early 90's in clubs, then progressed to entering and placing in various competitions including DMC and ITF. In around 2001 I started taking the whole dj/record collecting thing a little more seriously which saw me djing in many places around Australia and digging for records all over the world. I have shared stages and warmed up with every one from Gangstarr, MOP, Raekwon, Cut Chemist, P.U.T.S, Short Kut, De La Soul, Rob Swift, Mista Sinista, Roc Raida, Rhettmatic, Babu, Dilated Junkies, Dj Krush, Rip One,The Alkaholiks and Lyrics Born through to leading Aussie acts like The Hilltop Hoods,Delta, M-Phazes and Koolism.
Since 2002 I have also started making my own music which has included a long standing association with 7 piece jazz fusion band Sukatash, and the up coming Decades release on CH records. Also check my blog for exclusive funk/soul/hip hop edits.
Some of the mixes I make are recorded straight from the mixer into a tape deck, some are recorded and multi tracked, some are made to make people dance, some are made to make people think, but all are made for every one who has a genuine love of music to enjoy.

The original, and the best. DJ Soup is one of the countries most in demand selectors and producers. From his early work in hip hop crews in the 90s, multiple solo LPs on Australia’s Creative Vibes Label, to being a regular fixture throughout Sydney’s best nightclubs and bars, you can find equal measures of infectious funk, sublime musicality and downright silliness in equal measures. 

Taking the unlikely couple here of some classic Steely Dan Yacht Rock with the underlying Rhythms of early Sugar Hill. The result is a beautifully uplifting vibe tune with a generous nod to De La Soul.
