Some points discussed during this lesson:

- “We recite to you from the news of Mūsā and Fir’awn in truth for a people who believe.” [Sūrah al-Qaṣaṣ 28:3]
- Reflecting upon the stories of the Prophets mentioned in the Qur’ān in order to strengthen and increase our īmān.
- The arrogance of Fir’awn and how he exalted himself upon the earth. 
- “Say, ‘O Allāh, Owner of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honour whom You will and You humble whom You will. In Your Hand is [all] good. Indeed, You are over all things Competent.’” [Sūrah Āli ‘Imrān 3:26]
- How Fir’awn oppressed the servants of Allāh, and the reason he decided to spare the sons of Banī Isrā’il every other year.
- Benefits from the story of Umm Mūsā.
- “And We inspired to the mother of Mūsā, ‘Suckle him; but when you fear for him, cast him into the river and do not fear and do not grieve. Indeed, We will return him to you and will make him [one] of the messengers.’” [Sūrah al-Qaṣaṣ 28:7]
- The length of time Umm Mūsā suckled him. 
- How Mūsā (عليه السلام) ended up being raised in the house of Fir’awn. 
- Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) on the essence of ‘ibādah.
- The immense tawakkul and patience of Umm Mūsā. 
- A reminder of the Mercy of Allāh in how Mūsā was returned to his mother.

- “(Allāh) said: ‘O Mūsā I have chosen you above men by My Messages, and by My speaking (to you). So hold that which I have given you and be of the grateful.’” [Sūrah al-A’rāf 7:144]
- ‘Abdullāh b. Mas’ūd (رضى الله عنه) on the one who will be debased and the one who will be raised. 
- Examples of the humility and gratitude of Mūsā. 
- The greatest transgression of Fir’awn, and a refutation of the Takfīrīs. 
- The manhaj of the da’wah of Mūsā. 
- The murāqabah we must have in our actions. 
- Glorifying Allāh and mentioning the Name that is suitable for the request when making du’ā. 
- Allāh’s accompanying and granting of victory to the righteous believers. 
- Explanation of the word لَّيِّنًا in the āyah “فَقُولَا لَهُۥ قَوْلًا لَّيِّنًا لَّعَلَّهُۥ يَتَذَكَّرُ أَوْ يَخْشَىٰ”[Sūrah ṬāHā 20:44].
- The fundamental call of all of the Prophets. 
- The fundamental and secondary call of Mūsā. 
- Fir’āwn’s stubborn rejection of the call of Mūsā and Hārūn (عليهما السلام) to Tawḥīd. 
- The affair of the magicians and what occurred in their confrontation with Mūsā.
- A fiqh benefit from Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) regarding the prostration of recitation taken from this story. 
- Fir’awn’s reaction when the magicians declared their belief in the Lord of Hārūn and Mūsā, and how they responded to him.

- 1. Those who worship Allāh (‘ibādah) and seek His aid (isti’ānah) in doing so. 
- The most excellent and beneficial type of supplication to Allāh. 
- The greatest of gifts a person can be granted. 
- An observation by Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) regarding the thing that all of the reported supplications revolve around. 
- Ibn Taymiyyah’s (رحمه الله) reflection on what he found to be the most beneficial supplication. 
- 2. Those who turn away from worshipping Allāh and seeking His aid.
- The reason they ask of Allāh, if they were to do so.

- Clarification that Allāh’s responding and giving or not responding and withholding has no connection to the honour or disgrace of a servant. 
- The importance of istikhārah. 
- “As for man, when his Lord tries him by giving him honour and bounties, then he says (in exultation): ‘My Lord has honoured me.’ But when He tries him by straitening his means of life, he says: ‘My Lord has humiliated me!’” [Sūrah al-Fajr 89:15-16]
- True honour, and the sign of true humiliation. 
- 3. Those who worship Allāh but do not seek His aid in establishing that worship. 
- The two groups of people within this category:
- 3.1. The Qadariyyah/Mu’tazilah
- How their deviant belief that man creates his own actions prevents them from seeking Allāh’s aid in worship. 
- 3.2. The Jabariyyah
- What is necessitated by their belief, and how it impairs their worship. 
- Practical examples that highlight how an incorrect belief can be detrimental to a person’s worship and nearness to Allāh. 
- The meaning of Tawakkul, and a similitude that captures the manner in which the servant should depend upon his Lord. 
- “And whosoever puts his trust in Allāh, then He will suffice him.” [Sūrah aṭ-Ṭalāq 65:3]
- 4. Those who seek Allāh’s aid (in order to achieve their worldly objectives) but do not worship Him. 
- Affairs given to both the righteous and sinful. 
- The most ignorant and distant people from knowing Allāh and His religion. 
- The two foundational principles required to actualise إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ. 
- The four categories of people in regard to these two foundations:
- 1. Those who combine ikhlāṣ and mutāba’ah. 
- Affairs that are not from sincerity. 
- A beautiful similitude regarding how the people of ikhlāṣ and mutāba’ah view those around them. 
- Fuḍayl b. ‘Iyāḍ (رحمه الله) on the meaning of, “Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed.” [Sūrah al-Mulk 67:2]
- “So whoever hopes for the Meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord." [Sūrah al-Kahf 18:110]
