If you can feature the trashy, toothless, hate-filled streets of East Kensington as an 8-bit video game that’s been stomped on by wing tips & then re-calibrated you might be prepared for ABANDOS. This is not a nostalgic pastiche, it is a futurist fever dream. With chirping vocals as snarky as the guitar is soaked in a salty bath of reverb. Oh did you really think the anthemic chorus was your way of sneaking off? Nice try. There is NO chance for exit before the 3 minute mark. Learn to deal with it. A steady pulse sends you ripping through your purse for another Sheets Energy Strip, but no, there is only an 8 oz. can of Red Bull Silver Edition. It’s warm. Guzzle it anyway. Now throw your can into the street with the rest of them. Sometimes it feels so real to be wrong. Figure out your plans for the evening. I’ll hold myself accountable. I’ll be “In My Hole.”
