If you can feature the trashy, toothless, hate-filled streets of East Kensington as an 8-bit video game that’s been stomped on by wing tips & then re-calibrated you might be prepared for ABANDOS. This is not a nostalgic pastiche, it is a futurist fever dream. With chirping vocals as snarky as the guitar is soaked in a salty bath of reverb. Oh did you really think the anthemic chorus was your way of sneaking off? Nice try. There is NO chance for exit before the 3 minute mark. Learn to deal with it. A steady pulse sends you ripping through your purse for another Sheets Energy Strip, but no, there is only an 8 oz. can of Red Bull Silver Edition. It’s warm. Guzzle it anyway.
