Jimmy Van M has been an integral part of Bedrock's history with many releases from the labels inception. Most recently he and Oliver Lieb teamed up to bring us their Collaborations album release in 2012 as well as his "We Are Children" track which featured on John Digweed's Structures Two CD in 2011.

Now in 2013, Jimmy Van M is back on Bedrock and this time he has teamed up with Spanish producer AFFKT and Argentinean Producer/Singer Luxor T. Jimmy Van M and Luxor T have been working for more than a year now together and currently working an album project.  Luxor T a trained musician and Jimmy´s production experience on the dancefloor is hitting the right combination for freshly unique tracks each time. AFFKT heard one of Jimmy´s new tracks feat Luxor T - Like U and liked the vocal.  When talking they agreed to try an original together with Luxor T vocals which is how Dreams came into play and rest fell into place easy with great vibes.   Working together on this project AFFKT and Jimmy Van M feed off the creativity and positive enthusiasm to make quality music, you can hear they are into it and having fun. 

The result is Dreams which is a bass driven track that builds and builds with swung percussion creating a relentless groove with Luxor T's vocal layered perfectly over it all with an almost hypnotic effect. For those who prefer the dub vibe there is stripped back version of Dreams without the vocal which features extended pads and toughened up percussion. The final piece is Lucid which is a much more heads down affair for a darker and trippier ride than Dreams which will be perfect for tougher and techier sets. All in all a quality package that should have something for everyone and as we have witnessed John Digweed successfully road testing all of them over the past few months we know they rock on the dancefloor. Enjoy.

Three EPs on I’m a Cliché from 2012 and a bunch of EPs, tracks, remixes and edits on international imprints such as Correspondant, Relish, Days of Being Wild, Throne of Blood, Kill the DJ and more, made Red Axes gain respect throughout all the cold-ravers community.

“Kicks Out of You EP” is their fourth EP with the Paris-based boutique I’m a Cliché. It is their last DJ-friendly record (both vinyl and digital) before the awaited release of their first LP entitled “Ballad of the Ice”. Three original tracks are included. They feature: a tune in Spanish in “Candela Viva”; some spoken word in “Kicks out of You” (courtesy of their Brazilian punk friend Abrão, the same who featured in their hit “Caminho de Dreyfus”); and finally some unexpected samba beats in beautiful “Too Late to Samba”.

The reason why these two young guys born and raised in Israel should be that attracted to Latin America is like the reason why they should be so interested in German and French coldwave and other underground genres from the seventies and eighties: it shall remain a mystery. Red Axes are space and time travellers. However, what they send us from their trips is far from the typical postcard or the beach selfie. On the dancefloor, their sound plays with our craving for darkness, our sense of fun and our blue feelings; it frustrates and obsesses us. And thanks to their incredible technique, their passion for the past and the remote translates into something that belongs to right here and right now.

Welcome to the world of Drone, a London-based label founded by producer, artist and Death In Vegas guiding light Richard Fearless. An outlet for dancefloor distortion and other musical explorations. Created in the Metal Box, Drone will release oscillations in many forms.

For this, the debut outing Richard Fearless lays the mandate in the form of Higher Electronic States - proto-techno, peaktime acid. Analogue electronics, hammer-horror strings underpinned with drums to blow apart any floor. This is music made for very dark, smoke filled rooms with absurd lazers.

Crème Organization & M>O>S Recordings mainstay D’Marc Cantu picks up remixes duties on the flip toning things down in tempo but certainly not tension.  Full stream of this coming soon.

Among The Bearded Man’s many accomplishments: He was officially the first person ever to remix a remix, coincidentally making it back to the original again. Of course, his remix couldn’t be used for obvious reasons, but it so impressed a hitchhiker (who’s camel had just broken down), that she hopped in his dune buggy as he casually cruised through the middle of the Sahara desert. It was the girl’s idea to send the song to her dear friends Chris Lago, Lekesch & Schekel, and Addal, who completed Y.V.E. 48’s ‘On The Road’ remix package in brilliant style. The mysterious hitchhiker woman? Why she turned out to be none other than the queen of soul herself: Kelly Clarkson.

A knife-bearing man shouted at her, referring to the poor woman’s velvet purse. It wasn’t a coincidence that The Bearded Man, clad in white bell-bottoms and snazzy silk blouse trucked in at that exact moment. The knife immediately dropped to the ground as the would-be assailant turned and ran. No one. No one messes with The Bearded Man and gets away with it — except maybe AIMES.
