Following the impactful release of "Gwakke," the inaugural single from Ancient Astronauts' highly anticipated album in collaboration with Uganda's Ba Cypher Kabaka, the stage is set to unveil the second track from this groundbreaking project. This time, the spotlight shines on Niina MC, a versatile talent hailing from Kampala, Uganda, known for his prowess as a rapper, singer, and producer, and a pivotal member of the Nyabingi band, Nilotika Cultural Ensemble.

The new single pulsates with an electrifying uptempo groove, serving as a canvas for Niina MC's distinctive freestyle flow delivered in his native language, Luganda. A testament to the essence of Ba Cypher Kabaka's regularly organized freestyle cyphers prevalent in the heart of Kampala's neighborhoods, this track exemplifies the vibrant synergy and creative energy that define these communal gatherings.

Niina MC delves into his life's narrative, painting a vivid picture of his surroundings where everyone aspires to forge ahead, yet the path demands relentless toil. Amidst the tapestry of existence, joy and sorrow intertwine seamlessly. He introspects, grappling with how to navigate the pain inflicted, even when it comes from within the familial fold. The sanctity of life prevails; the thought of kin harming one another remains inconceivable. In every facet of existence, a rationale exists. Life inexorably ticks away, an unceasing chronicle. Rather than lingering in bygone moments, resilience dictates seizing the present and striving for a brighter tomorrow. Amidst a landscape often marred by deceit, the call resounds for authenticity in every action undertaken.

At its core, this collaboration embodies a larger purpose — a mission to harness Hip Hop as a catalyst for positive societal transformation and cultural empowerment. Niina MC and his fellow musicians represent diverse indigenous cultures of Uganda, advocating for a sense of pride in African heritage and identity. Their approach ingeniously merges Hip Hop elements with local languages, seamlessly blending them into an indigenous cultural landscape.

"Singa" radiates an infectious energy, showcasing the fusion of Hip Hop culture with indigenous narratives, embodying a vibrant tapestry of tradition and modernity.

First track I composed while living in Cali, as I was playing around with the Eb scale on some Tony Allen Drumming. Then met Maik Cel from Zalama , "y se armo el piquete" as we say  !

Paris-based, Chicago-born MC RacecaR has been living a pure hip hop life for the last two decades. He's one of the coolest hip hop cats in the French capital, relentlessly touring but in a constant state of rap, writing & rehearsing whenever he can. His flow, lyrics and friendly Native Tongues attitude got him to collaborate with more and more people, among which Paris DJs collaborators Lawkyz, on his 'The Waxidermist' project, or Etienne de la Sayette, RacecaR opens his afrojazz album 'Maputo Queens' to be released in may.

A true meeting of two worlds first happened when RacecaR met with the label's in-house producer Grant Phabao, who's radical expertise in groove got him to work with many famous musicians worldwide, from Jamaica to Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana, USA, Brazil, UK, Germany and more. From there on, an ongoing special production project started, with RacecaR bringing the rhymes and Grant Phabao recording them over one of his reggae, ska, funk, jazz or afro productions… No boom bap, no maverick beats, no wonky, no wobble, all breaks, skanks, drops and more polyrhythmics. The word was : "let's turn out worlds upside down, and make something different together".

'One Free', the latest single extracted from RacecaR's upcoming 'A Healthy Obsession With Pétanque' album, sees the American MC laying a thick rap, moving on and around the beat, over a deep & dubby, slow & stripped-down early 80s dancehall style riddim from French producer and multi-instrumentalist Grant Phabao. The vibe is laidback, smokey, while tropical and hip. A pure stoner tune in the "play it again, Sam" category.
