Although only in its infancy, Discothèque Tropicale has quickly gained support from the likes of Antal, Hunee, Mendel, Barbara Boeing, Poly Ritmo and Dar Disku to name a few. 

The collective, London based events series, and licensed reissue label’s first project is focussed on highlighting the sounds of Guadeloupe and the Southern French Antilles. In doing so they hope to champion and honour the talented artists that birthed this beautiful music.

My grandmother gave me her turntable in 1975. She had a collection of classical music, even some 78's. For about a year that is all I listened to. I slowly started buying albums, my 1st was a k-tel record with Robby the Robot on the cover, called Music Machine, 2nd was Some Girls-Rolling Stones.I started buying 45 singles and eventually started to DJ for my dog, a black lab named Dusty. Once I hit high school, I had a diverse taste in music and had invested in some good components for my stereo. Of course DJ duty at dances was a natural fit. The 45 insert as my icon reflects the original DJ experience I embraced. Its been a lifelong love affair with music. Thanks Soundcloud and all who share this love!
