The aurora. label continues to connect people through music with a new compilation focussed on the underground sounds of Serbia, as compiled by Nino Sebelic. This eight track EP features music from Brutalists, Overtone Funk, Subotika, Nino Sebelic, Ontal, Alavux, Filip Xavi and Wb41.

Through its releases, aurora. explores country- and city-specific techno variations and makes bridges between these different creative enclaves, forming bonds between artists and listeners and giving a voice to the more unknown and unusual scenes out there. So far the label has turned heads with a Europe-wide compilation, then a collection of meditative music entitled Morning Rituals Vol. 1 before a recent France focussed selection. Now it is to Serbia, a country with a rich history of techno.

This latest collection opens up with Brutalists' 'BG Metro', an intense passage of horror themed ambient alive with alien sounds, distorted snatches of human voices and radio interference that sets a stark mood. The Lyre Records founder Overtone Funk - a long time veteran of the Serbian scene- layers up IDM melody and chunky drums, twisted synths and raw textures into broken techno perfection on 'Equipoised'. Subotika is the duo of Mario Crnkovic and Nino Sebelic who are core family members of Detroit label Motech. Their excellent 'Phonic Days' brings plenty of Motor City Soul with its serene and futuristic synth work, smooth drums and classy sense of atmosphere before Nino Sebelic then goes solo on the 'Stunner,' a big, powerful wall of techno with huge hi hats and a hypnotic lead that takes you deep down the rabbit hole.

Next come Ontal, the pair whose music comes on labels such as HANDS, Mord Records and π electronics, and is always focussed on progression. Their 'The Long Run' is a frosty, austere banger with scraping hits and unrelenting kicks. Alavux comes from the Electro/Techno scene of Zemun and he impresses with the intensity and texture of 'Phase 02' which is an all out rave. Belgrade's Filip Xavi's 'Tool For Thought' shows why he is such a mainstay of the scene with its punchy drum programming and dystopian synth work working you into a frenzy while Wb41 delivers a breakbeat track that signs a perfect closing.

This is a widescreen view of the Serbian scene that brings together talents old and new for a fine showcase of the country's rich techno sound.

Whilst many labels slow down during summer, !Organism does not: the Swiss label is back with another fierce package of high energy techno, this time from Eddie Hale complete with a remix from Ray Kajoka. 

Although he has a background in jazz, Australian Eddie Hales main love is electronic music. Since his first head turning remix in 2013 he has been on the rise, with collaborations alongside Cocoons Ray Kajioka as well as EPs on labels like Detroits Motech and Florian Meindl's respected Flash Recordings all in the bag. Support for his tunes comes in from heavyweights like Karotte and Joris Voorn and now he comes correct once more with two more unmissable missives. 

Up first, the terrific title track "Radon" is seven and a half stimulating minutes of white knuckle techno. Hulking kicks down low, slithering, fizzing synth lines and ever more tension percolate through the groove as you voyage ever deeper into space.

Berlin based veteran and Kanzleramt Music regular Ray Kajioka steps up to remix this one having, in the past, reworked everyone from Joel Mull to Dave Clarke. His version of the track is stripped of some of the drama and reduced to a supple, rumbling techno groove with electrified little synth lines bobbling next to icy hi hat ringlets. Its urgent and futuristic and cannot fail to make floors move. 

Lastly, "Resistance" is a more atmospheric cut from Hale that is sci-fi and spacious, sombre in mood but direct in groove. Textured synths and undulating bass all add weight and the cumulative effect is moving both physically and emotionally. 

This trio of tracks really hits the spot and marks another high point for all concerned.

Saved Records is delighted to announce the release of ‘Body, Soul & Other Things’, the latest and greatest full length release from Spanish artist David Herrero. Featuring 12 tracks, this is Herrero’s fourth LP, his first on Saved and comes after seven years of top house and tech tunes on labels like Stereo Productions, Viva Music and Defected. In all he has put his name to more than 200 releases and regularly gets support from the likes of Marco Carola, Loco Dice and Saved boss Nic Fanciulli. His organic sound has taken him to headline slots at clubs all over the world from Space Miami to Womb Tokyo and, as such, he is very much a key player in today’s House music scene.
This album was created in a studio in Benavente, Spain with bits of hardware including a Dave Smith Evolver, Elektron Machinegroove SPS1 & Roland keyboards and was written very much with the dancefloor in mind. Herrero has also drawn on his own experiences travelling the globe to create an LP that has that sense of momentum which makes it a perfect soundtrack to the open road or a late night flight.
Opening up with three minutes of field recordings and found sounds that take in a radio being tuned, menacing drums, airplanes taking off and chopped vocals, ‘Botton Clash’ then settles us into a warm and bouncy house groove which is embellished with some jazzed up little keys. ‘You’ then picks up the pace with punchier, loopier drums and percolating percussion, whilst the slick drum programming and old school feel continues with the ducking and diving tech cut ‘Party Time.’
A fulsome house kick drum underpins every tune through this album, but there is enough variation in mood and style of groove to keep you very much excited and locked in throughout. ‘Your Body’ is silky and colourful, ‘Bloodline’ has great female vocals with snappy snares and prickly perc and ‘Background’ is another pristine house tune whose production is clean and crisp and helps the tech vibes really make
their mark. Closing out through effective and classically informed jams like ‘Make Love’ and ‘So Good’, this album remains strong from start to finish.
All of the tracks here are sure to prove irresistible to both DJs and dancers and collectively are another labdmark for the ever talented David Herrero.

For the third release on Decoder Recordings, Filip Xavi makes his debut to the label. The Serbian producer and resident DJ of the Drugstore club in Belgrade delivers four superb techno tracks. All of them are characterized by an obscure sound but directly aimed at the dance floor. The first track WD-4D is a powerful opening of the EP, with its successor AW-FL keeping pace nicely. The B side of this EP can't be ignored, as the opening track HE-AP kicks off quite fierce. The final composition named D-UI is an excellent hypnotic DJ tool.

Filip Xavi - Macrodosing

Recently, we have accepted a new resident into our ranks and are finally publishing her live within our podcast. Once Zhenya studied drama of cinema, but the language of notes and sounds turned out to be closer to her. With the help of music that is not limited by stylistic frames, she tells stories of feelings or life states and human experiences, which is reflected in the titles of the tracks.

In recent years, the nickname Sestrica has become familiar to Russian dance floors, and her music has attracted the attention of the authoritative Dave Clarke, British fanzine Mixmag, who included the track For The Wrong Reasons in the Best New Techno selection. Our French friend Umwelt, who released her release on his label and of course m_division, because her live periodically began to decorate our line-ups, in general, all the puzzles have come together, we ask you to love and favor and present her live, recorded on the main stage of the GAMMA festival 2020

С недавних пор мы приняли в свои ряды нового резидента и наконец публикуем в рамках нашего подкаста ее лайв, знакомьтесь, Sestrica. Когда-то Женя училась на драматургии кино, но язык нот и звуков оказался ей ближе. С помощью музыки, не ограниченной стилистическими рамками она рассказывает истории чувств или жизненных состояний и человеческого опыта, что отражено и в названиях треков. 
За последние годы ник Sestrica стал привычным для отечественных танцполов, а ее музыка привлекла внимание авторитетного Dave Clarke,  британского фэнзина Mixmag, который включил трек For The Wrong Reasons в подборку Best New Techno.
