Er erzählt die rohe, ungefilterte Geschichte der "Heimkehr" einer jungen deutschen Vertriebenen im Jahr 1948 – nicht in ein willkommen heißendes Vaterland, sondern in eine Landschaft aus zerstörten Bahnhöfen, bürokratischer Kälte und dem leisen, herzzerreißenden Moment, in dem ein Lebenstraum durch ein einziges Stück Papier zerstört wird.
