Dealing in the Name of the Lord of the Universe,

ਹਮਨੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਕਾ ਬਾਪਾਰ ਕੀਆ ਹੈ॥

And pleasing the Saints and holy men, obtain the Beloved Lord and sing His Glorious Praises; play the sound current of the Naad with the five instruments. ||1||Pause||

ਸਾਧੂ ਜੋ ਹੈਂ (ਸੰਤ) ਸਾਂਤ ਰੂਪ ਸੋ ਮਨਾਏ ਹੈਂ ਔਰ ਜਬ ਹਰੀ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਹੈਂ ਤਬ (ਪ੍ਰਿਅ) ਪਤੀ ਹਰੀ ਪਾਏ ਹੈਂ। (ਪੰਚ) ਸੰਤੋਂ ਕੇ (ਨਾਦ) ਸਬਦ ਰੂਪ (ਤੂਰ) ਬਾਜੇ ਹੈਂ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਆ ਹੈ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਏ ਸਹਜਾਏ ਦਰਸਾਏ ਅਬ ਰਾਤਿਆ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਸਿਉ ॥

Obtaining His Mercy, I easily gained the Blessed Vision of His Darshan; now, I am imbued with the Love of the Lord of the Universe.

ਪਰਮੇਸ੍ਵਰ ਕੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਸੇ ਹਮ ਨੇ ਯਹ ਗੁਣ ਪਾਏ ਹੈਂ ਅਰ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਅੰਤਸਕਰਣ (ਸਹਜਾਏ) ਸਾਂਤ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੂਏ ਹੈਂ। ਜਿਸ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨੇ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ (ਦਰਸਾਏ) ਦਿਖਲਾਏ ਹੈਂ ਅਬ ਹਮ ਤਿਸ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕੇ ਸਾਥ ਰਾਤੇ ਹੈਂ॥

ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਮਨਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ਰਹਸਾਏ ਨਹੀ ਆਏ ਸਹਜਾਏ ਮਨਿ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਪਾਏ ॥

The Guru has implanted spiritual wisdom within my mind, and I rejoice that I shall not have to come back again. I have obtained celestial poise, and the treasure within my mind.

ਜਬ ਗੁਰੋਂ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਮੇਂ ਗਿਆਨ ਅਰ ਧਿਆਨ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ ਕਰਾਇ ਦੀਏ ਤਬ ਹਮ ਆਨੰਦ ਮੇਂ ਆਏ ਫੇਰ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਅੰਤਸ਼ਕਰਣ ਆਨ ਬਿਖਿਓਂ ਕੀ ਓਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਏ। ਸੋ ਅੰਤਹਕਰਣ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਮੇਂ ਆਏ ਹੈਂ, ਭਾਵ ਅਬ ਔਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨ ਕੁਬਚਨ ਭੀ ਸਹਾਰ ਲੇਤੇ ਹੈਂ। ਅਬ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਮੇਂ ਸਰਬ ਕਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਰੂਪ ਹਰੀ ਜੀ ਪਾਏ ਹੈਂ॥

It has been so long, so long, so long, so very long, since my mind has felt such a great thirst.

(ਚਿਰੁ ਚਿਰੁ ਚਿਰੁ ਚਿਰੁ) ਚਾਰੋਂ ਜੁਗੋਂ ਕੀ ਚੌਂਕੜੀਆਂ ਬੀਤ ਗਈ ਹੈਂ, ਇਸ ਸੇ ਮਨ ਕੋ ਬੜੀ ਪਿਆਸ ਲਗ ਰਹੀ॥☬ਜੇ ਕਹੈ ਆਪ ਕੋ ਪੂਰਬੋਕਤ ਗੁਣ ਕਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੂਏ ਹੈਂ? ਸੋ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਐਸੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰੀ ਹੈ, ਸੋ ਦਿਖਾਵਤੇ ਹੈਂ:
