The ever-reliable Katakana Edits crew returns, this time with a quartet of goodtime funk reworks from Berlin-based edit fiend Voodoocuts. James Brown gets a going over on "Voodoosexmachine", a flute-laden re-cut of the Godfather of Funk's best-known tune. Another familiar favourite - check the snaking sax line, as sampled by The 45 King on B-Boy classic "The 900 Number" - is given a dancefloor touch-up on "Blow Ya Woopie", while "Get Up Brother" turns a cover version of Bob Marley's "Get Up, Stand Up" into a deep, bassy, fluid house jam. Finally, there's more bumpin' rare funk business on the ludicrously bottom-heavy "Stay Excited".

The Captain is an Italian producer & DJ widely known in the Funky Breaks and Ghetto Funk scene who takes his fans on a musical journey by turning all-time classics hits into contemporary dancefloor dynamite. The Captain has created a unique signature sound taking inspiration from the golden decades of classic rhythm and blues, soul, latin, hip-hop, and rock-n-roll and mixing it with modern dance music and beats. His highly praised output of vinyl and digital releases on labels such as Resense, Goodgroove, ESL, BBP, and Ghetto Funk have been consistently topping the Juno Charts the last several years.  This fast growing success and well earned reputation led him to remix great artists such as Ursula 1000 and musical icon Fred Schneider from the legendary rock band, the B-52s.

The Captain’s following has widen through extensive exposure through national and international radio airplay and interviews (BBC, WDR, RAI, Triple J) and television appearances.
