To The Lady At The Back

The three astronauts Neil Armstrong, Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin and Michael Collins launched on a Saturn V rocket from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center in Florida on July 16, 1969, and reached lunar orbit on July 19. While Collins remained behind in the command module of the Columbia spacecraft, Armstrong and Aldrin touched down on the Earth's satellite the next day aboard the Eagle lunar module. A few hours later, Armstrong became the first man to set foot on the moon, shortly followed by Aldrin. After a nearly 22-hour stay, the lunar module launched again from the lunar surface and returned to the mother ship (lunar orbit rendezvous). After returning to Earth, Columbia splashed down in the Pacific Ocean about 25 km from the USS Hornet recovery ship on July 24. Apollo 11 also marked the first time rock samples were brought to Earth from another celestial body.

Around 600 million people worldwide watched the television broadcast of the 1969 moon landing.

My name is Martin known has The Celturian, I'm a recording Artist here in the Uk, I write and play acoustic guitar instrumentals in Celtic and Classical.
