After the successful Illusion of Choice EP which included Chris.SU & State of Mind’s
„Above Earth” - a track made to the top 100 tracks of the year 2014 on Beatport -
FATE Recordings is now back with a brand new EP!
For the title track „Vital Moments” Chris.SU has teamed up with long time partner in
crime Kryptomedic who had a fantastic year in 2015 so far, having released on
Blackout, Virus Recordings and Eatbrain, to name a few, and whom Chris has
previously made the neurofunk anthem „Underground Culture” with. This energetic
tech d&b bombs’ bassline drags you along with itself to be fully sure you remember
the „vital moments” of a party, festival or rave you’ve been dancing at.
Continuing the EP with „Antiserum”, a track with an epic, atmospheric and misterious
intro which builds on Chris’ classical musical background, only to turn out surprisingly
to be a monsterous 2 step roller after the drop with a filty, acid bassline bizness. A
must have in a DJ set to keep up the energy levels high.
The third track „The Universe” is a VIP treatment of Chris’ tune „F.A.T.E.” previously
released on Subtitles Music UK and now has those additional elements he thought
are missing from the original, with a twist of the main bassline riff, plus the mixdown
is adjusted to reach the standards of 2015. Surely a great way to start, continue or
finish a party with a big banger!
Finally, the instrumental version of „Vital Moments” is also included on the EP, for
those who prefer a tune without an MC, or who would like to try mashing it up with
acapellas, or mixing it with other vocal tunes.
The EP enjoys support from a number of A-list DJs including Andy C, Ed Rush,
Friction, Black Sun Empire, DC Breaks, State of Mind, Jade, Mindscape, Nymfo,
A.M.C., to name a few.

Broken Mirror

Climbing slowly and gently out of the capsule, stepping out into a strange and unknown world. Carefully leading the foot to the bottom. A short twitch went through the body as it stepped on the unexpectedly cool steel plates. The weakened body slid limply and powerless out of the capsule.
Searching in an eternal darkness. Only interrupted by the red light cone of a warning light, which wandered evenly and in a perpetual correlation to the crying out of the alarm through the room.
The cone of fire of the warning light showed a picture of destruction. It felt as if the heartbeat would stop for a second. The soot colored the room black, shadowy outlines and deformed shapes, which were also covered with the pitch-black soot, created a frightening scenery. Pictures of memory flared up as they crossed the scene and lay like a veil on the soot-blackened backdrop. The contrast between these two realities could not be more frightening. As if you were looking at the world through a broken mirror.

It had long been said that the oceans were the last great frontier, that their depths held a wealth of secrets to be found and discoveries to be made. Foremost of all spoken of were the treasures that lay upon the ocean floor, relics of lost ages left by those who had fallen victim to the sea’s tempestuous ferocity held now within the stygian depths of its enormous body. There, far beneath the realm of humanity in places where even light dare not penetrate, such hoards lay open for the taking to those enterprising enough to delve the darkness. So went the fisherman’s tales and shipwrights stories, and indeed they held some truth. Yet unbeknownst to their tellers these tales were unfinished, for they lacked themselves the knowledge of what truly lay below.

Indeed, amongst the glimmering treasures of these unfathomable depths was something that shone even brighter, a glowing jewel of a luster and size unmatched by any other in the sea. Its presence was known only amongst the most wizened of mariners, whispered of only in hushed tones by their salt-scarred lips. It was said only to be seen on moonless nights adrift far from land, but it’s sight was feared by all who knew of it. Those who saw it were said to be overcome with greed, diving from their vessels in the pursuit of such a wondrous treasure never to be seen again. So ended the tales, for that was all they did know, yet far beneath the waves there was still more to show. Woe to the sailor who so dove to that fate, who knew not the horror that they would soon face. As they arrived at their treasure their pleasure became fear, for revealed was the presence of what truly lay here. A monstrous maw with razor sharp fangs and the face of a behemoth from which their treasure did hang. Trapped now in the darkness down so far below, the last light they saw was that beast’s POWER GLOW.

The Test of Power & Strength had pitted the raw might the adventurer against impossible odds, and yet through their incredible prowess they had survived to proceed to the next trial. As they stepped into the first true room of the temple complex, leaving its massive courtyard behind them, the adventurer was perplexed to find but a single set of doors before them as the voice of the temple’s mysterious inhabitant boomed forth from its walls once more. 

“In the first trial, you were tested upon strength of body alone, but herein such brutish brawn alone will not see you succeed. Beyond this door lays the third and final trial & the knowledge you seek, but you must first prove that your spirit is pure and that your soul is clean of any ulterior motives should you ever hope to leave. This is the second trial of the temple. This is the TEST OF SPIRIT & SOUL.”

The voice departed as quickly as it had arrived, and the adventurer moved to step through the door. Flinging open the great door they found themselves alone, suspended above a great void by an animalistic spirit that seemed to emerge from their own bodies. The adventurer hung precariously from this great creature, and as the beast began to move their connection was tenuously held by only the smallest movements of the adventurer’s body. Battered by wind and wave of doubt and dread at what might lay before them, the adventurer journeyed through the spirit realm on virtue of thought alone,before finding themself deposited beyond the threshold of the very door that they had stood before both so recently and yet so long ago. They were approaching the knowledge that they had for so long sought, but before them lay the third and final trial, which promised to push their limits further than any that had come before.

The dread legion had assembled upon the spot of their summoning, bound to the place by ancient tonal magics and the shared purpose of their existence. Called to this place they had been by their leader, one who even in death retained the formidable talents that he had cultivated in life. The legion’s gaze centered upon him as he ascended the rough hewn pedestal at the center of their gathering, crafted from an amalgamation of headstones and sarcophagi that had once borne both their names and physical bodies. Trapped within such material prisons no longer, they watched with the unbreakable focus of the dead as their caller rose before them, taking his place within the ritual that would unbind them all from their accursed grave.

The incantation began slowly as its guttural tonalities rung out with supernatural force, shivering the ground beneath the legions feet in rhythmic pulses set to counter the magic that bound them here. The legion began to move in accordance with the thrumming beat beneath them, amplifying its power with their every footfall. Then from the caller came a sound most piercingly shrill, which seemed to cleave the very heavens above with the razor sharp edges of its harmonic hiss. The clouds gave way not to skies but to stars, which bore down light from their otherworldly realms that came to a point upon the caller’s own pedestal. With one final cue, the leader raised up his arms and his legion followed in suit, preparing for the moment that would grant them their freedom. With a luminous flash all present swept their arms down, at the moment of the peak in their crescendo of sound. When the brilliance had faded the legion had already spread far, united under the light of a single rockstar.
