Deafened by the noise of the conveyor belt and the heavy machinery operating on it, I try to search for my way to the engine room. The air is filled with thick smoke and blazing embers that fill my eyes with fire and tears. Then I see it. Lit by the molten metal gushing down the foundry in the distance - the door. Now or never. I gasp for the remaining oxygen and rush through the impenetrable fog while my feet burn on the scorched charcoal. The vapors are poisoning my lungs as I try to navigate through the hell lit by the dancing fiery demons projected into the mist around me,. With my hands, I sweep the glowing walls until I reach it. I open the hatch, dropping to my knees. With my last bits of adrenaline and strength, I crawl to the lever. Pull. Then darkness. The final sequence has been initiated. The subjects have been REFORGED.

The forthcoming LP from The Clamps and Kosen Productions isn’t just a collection of records which the French artist has spent months perfecting. It’s also a colossal look into the soundscape which such a high-calibre artist has at their disposal. Stretching across fifteen tracks, between drum & bass and garage, The Clamps focuses around the insanity that is stretching itself across the contemporary world and how he’s helped to define this sonically through each one of his records. There’s also a host of sci-fi inspired cuts which add to the LP’s explosive themes. From the already revealed record ‘LHS 1140b’, with a name that’ll resonate for any space fans, right through to the hard-hitting throws of ‘End of an Era’, there’s a taste to suit every palette throughout every expertly composed record. 

After already setting an enviable standard with the undeniably heavyweight standards on tracks like ‘Looking for Trouble’ alongside the notorious Nuklear MC, standalone offerings such as ‘Mankind’ and ‘30a #3a-23 Happiness’ peddle an unforgettable level of engineering whilst also pushing through a cinematic backdrop. Then a range of collaborations follow in their wake, including ‘Astronauts’ alongside Impak, as well as Snotrocket for ‘Friends in the Hood’. Merikan also joins the fray with ‘Fast Way’. 

The pace is continued to be set with ‘Cattle Mutilation’, whilst Mizo and The Clamps join forces for the meticulously sequenced drums of ‘Time Pressure’. ‘Medina’ pulls you through its half-time madness whilst adding to the LP’s strident versatility, which is followed in quick succession by ‘Soul of the Abyss’ with its throbbing LFOs. The Clamps and NickBee then merge their collective talents for ‘Addicted’, with its more old-school underpinnings. ‘The First and the Last’ platforms the creeping atmospherics which characterises many pieces of The Clamps’ sonic artillery, whilst ‘End of an Era’ draws the album to a close on a cataclysmic breakdown which takes you deep into the belly of the beast. ‘End of an Era’ alludes to The Clamps’ hardcore roots, whilst paying homage to the new foundations he’s laid down through his new music and Kosen Productions.

Now over ten years deep in the game, decorated Slovakian drum and bass
veteran Trilo has amassed a loyal following thanks to his natural ability to juggle intricate melodies with unrelenting bassweight. Best known for his contributions to the neurofunk scene but equally comfortable producing myriad styles of D&B, the now Kraków-based producer’s vast back catalog spans prestigious labels including Renegade Hardware, Bad Taste, Eatbrain and Let It Roll. His most recent offering, 2019’s “Rush”, saw him collaborate with Bad Company UK legend Vegas. Now keen to explore his own musical identity rather than conforming to labels’ often rigid sonic requirements, Trilo has opted to self-release his music via his own label, Trilo Music.
First up on the label is the new single “Sion”, a barbed belter which opens with epic leads, cinematic pads and swirling FX before catapulting into a stunning climax dominated by gravelly basslines and vicious drums. A triumphant showcase of the signature style Trilo fans know and love, this serves as the first in an upcoming string of similarly heavy and technical releases on the label, set to be imminently released on a bi-monthly basis. In
the near future, however, expect Trilo Music to encompass a broader range of music across the D&B spectrum, including plenty of exciting collaborations with other titans of the scene.

The Clamps, born Julien Carbou, is a French Drum & Bass producer and DJ established in Toulouse. Since starting his music career through several musical projects in the late 90s, he has become known for his unique and heavy sound that blends elements of Drum & Bass, Techno, and Industrial Music.

With a string of releases on respected labels such as Trendkill Records, Kosen Production and Eatbrain, The Clamps has established himself as a prominent figure in the Drum & Bass scene. His music is characterized by its intricate sound design, intense energy, and expertly crafted basslines that have earned him a dedicated following.

With a discography spanning over a decade, The Clamps continues to push the D&B boundaries and remains a significant force in the genre. His music is celebrated for its raw energy, technical precision, and forward-thinking approach, making him a must-see act for fans of the genre.

Aside from his solo work, he has set up different musical projects such as Burr Oak (with Opsen), Forum (with Opsen & SKS) and Third Colony (with Deerhill) to express himself in different musical journeys.

In addition to his production work, The Clamps is also known for his high-energy DJ sets, which have taken him to clubs and festivals all across the world.

Over the years, he has established himself as one of the leading figures in the Drum & Bass scene, and his music continues to be highly regarded by fans and critics alike.
