J’ai produit cet édit il y a quelques temps pour finir mes dj sets, parfois celui-ci, parfois celui de "La groupie du pianiste". Idolâtre absolu de Michel Berger et de sa muse, et bien que toujours gêné par les déferlantes de « rip » et de récupérations variées j’ai décidé de le poster ce matin comme un au-revoir à quelqu’un de la famille, quelqu’un qu’on a toujours connu et aimé.

I produced this edit some time ago to finish my DJ sets, sometimes this one, sometimes that of « la groupie du pianiste ». Absolute idolatrous of Michel Berger and his muse, and although always embarrassed by the over-use of "rip" and various commercial abuses, I finally decided to post it this morning like a goodbye to someone from the family, someone we have always known and loved.

Beware, Discomatin is back. In 2018, the Parisian crew of diggers and DJ’s originally known for their edits goes official with fully licensed and remastered reissues. For this new adventure, they chose an incredible in-demand French boogie EP from Diva, an eighties funk band from Bordeaux.  
Diva only released one EP with La Nuit, a sentimental, almost poetic boogie banger with great synth, guitar and vocal parts. The track could honestly have been a radio hit in the eighties with some real promotion. Today, it’s still time to make it right and it is already an anthem in the French underground disco scene.   
 Originally on the B side of the 1985 original release on Cactus, "La Nuit" is here available with its two different versions (12’’ and 7’’ mix) and comes also with “Prise Au Piège”, a more synth-pop influenced funk track which gave its name to the original release. 
 The band was formed by Gabrielle Andriampanana, Alex Louisor and Olivier Renoir. Before Diva, these last two already played together in the local new-wave band Bolton which was one of the first of the area to use synthetisers. Even if they had a small recognition at the time, the original release stood quite underground. Thanks to Discomatin, it’s now available to the real connoisseurs and still with the fantastic illustrations of French artist Camille de Cussac on the back cover. Discotizer is a DJ & Producer/Remixer from Cologne (Germany) with over 25 years of passion for House & Disco Music. He's well known to the local bar and lounge scene and has been playing a feel-good sound that is second to none.
