Around nowhere that reminds me slightly
of that rusty swing we both shared tightly,
there lie those memories I hold dear.
I don't need to close my eyes to see—
I can even hear.

It is no longer present,
but in vivid colours, it still lives.

Running around, wasting youth—
it was bittersweet, a teenager's truce.
Ball games, scary faces, breaking windows,
after-hours torchlight illuminating the way back,
escaping from trouble, the hidden hatch.

Curious looks at love letters and care,
beautiful innocence, timeless romance—
it was all born there.

The contagious sound of your genuine laughter,
spontaneous giggles, and
my attempts to impress you.
My embarrassing jokes and tricks—
the perfect disaster.

The stage was set.
Less than a third! It was all we had.
From it all and everything to nothing left.
Maybe a little left.
As I embrace the harsh reality of time,
once again, fond, colourful memories warm my chest.
That's all there is now,
but forever with me, it will live—
rent-free.
