With creating Hard Fist records, Tushen Raï has found a way to bring together his two passions: collecting records and traveling. Highly inspired by labels like Optimo, Versatile, Comeme and by the spirits of Andrew Weatherhall, he have only one motto : "Stay singular, keep the floor tripping, give them something they don't know". From Turkish psychedelism to Romanian cold wave, Jamaican Disco or tribal breakbeat, his undeniable dancing sets are fed with powerful soul voices, weirdo beats and unknown instruments.

For Bordello Radio, he delivers a one hour mix of records picked up from his personal record collection surfing from cosmic dub to balearic and 90’s trance.

Recorded on a dreary summer day in permafrost Berlino with 2x 1210 MKII, Ecler Warm2, Oto Biscuit

To lift the spirits during this abstinent summer season, I recorded my second effort in the series Italo Obscuro. As in the first edition, this mix comprises a personal journey through the genre most dear to my heart, which still seems to be an inexhaustible cornucopia of musical treasures. As always a lil disclaimer ahead, since the title is to be taken with a grain of salt. If you are already familiar with the genre, you will possibly know some of the tracks and not deem them to be super scarce. Hope you will enjoy in any case!

Italo Obscuro Vinyl Mix Vol. II

Sneaker wrote us earlier about his selection:
"As my old promo sticker proudly declares - in the past I explored Chicago - Italo - Synth!
The selection here however is stringing together Canadian electronic disco from the golden age in the early 80s. I honestly can't imagine for whom they produced it and whether or where Canadians danced to it. Only via Rams Horn some licensed records found their way to Central Europe (the Dutch were early fans of Italo Disco, too).
The Canadians take on the topic is professional, honed by a top notch production, warm like early Italo and has better but equally simple and generic lyrics. They somewhat co-shaped the Hi NRG sound (yet without gay connotations) and were even more rooted in disco, soul and funk than the Italians (no Krafty influences; like in Chicago for example).
Unlike in Italo the "oeuvre" is tiny, limited and overseeable. There is little gems, rare or private pressings. Who knows why also the markets were so different back then?
And the present of Canatalo?
The hype only starts here!

I picked up these records here and there, often in the US, of course researched on discogs, peeking on what the eponymous female DJ Automaticamore is doing in Toronto, originally inspired by the cover version of Lost In Love by the Parallax Corporation.
Excuse that I sneaked in a Gertalo juwel by our project Bionda e Lupo and finished with the mad classic by UK punk band Crass.

Black Pomade (Whoopee / Manzo Edits) is a Milan-born DJ now based in NYC, after nearly a decade in Lisbon, where he became a key figure in the local scene. 
Founder of the Ruínas collective and Whoopee party series, he's known for his high-energy sets blending dubby Disco, Chicago House, and Acid.
With releases on Last Forever Records, Stereo Ferment, and Rollover Milano's Anything Goes, his sound has taken him across Europe and Asia, sharing the decks with artists like Hunee, Josey Rebelle, Sam Ruffillo, among others.

𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗜𝗫
«This mix is a collection of slow, hypnotic tribal tracks that pull you into a deeper groove. It’s not about going full shamanic with Himalayan hats and such; it's just that after some digging in Tokyo, Lisbon, and London, I realized the stuff I was buying had sort of a theme going on, and I found myself drawn to these sounds.
Clearly, the influence of the Italian Afro/Cosmic scene emerges strongly in this mix. I really enjoy how the slower tempos, paired with deep basses and repetitive yet organic rhythmic patterns, don’t just get you moving physically — they make you feel the music mentally. 
I thought Tiella Sound would be the perfect place to record this mix, given the care and attention they show for the quality of music and their cherished, refined sound.»

Do we still need to introduce Ralph Maruani, known as Flabaire, co-founder of the Parisian label D.KO Records, bassist with the Secret Value Orchestra, soloist in his psych-rock project Aboukir and producer who has forged a melodic and cosmic universe all his own?
At the age of 30, with three albums already released and a number of EPs, appearances and remixes to his name, Flabaire is recognised by legendary artists such as Move D and Point G/DJ Gregory, as well as many of his more accomplished peers.
So it's with great joy and anticipation that we welcomed him for a set of finely channelled deep and dubby house.

Slowaxx returns with the live recording of his first album "Shapes Interfusion". The Italian artist breaks boundaries between electronic music and jazz by inviting 6 musicians and a rapper to join him on stage and play his music. The recorded session unfolds as a vivid, highly emotional rendition of Ricardo Chiarucci's music.

“Pantere Rosee” is a pure rhodes, bass and synth jam built on programmed acoustic drums. The various themes refer to the movements of the Pink Panther cartoon and describe situations in which the protagonist pursues a goal or searches for an object by sneaking into environments that are not his own or into lodgings that do not belong to him. The character moves through the various environments trying to hide from enemies and avoiding dangers that arise in his path.
