Following the success of his previous EP The Lake, the label reconnects with BAL 5000, aka Balint Forgacs. The Lake reached No.1 on Juno Download in the Nu Disco, Balearic and Electro charts, picked up wide support across DJ charts, radio shows and podcasts, and found its way onto more than a few dancefloors along the way.

The new EP, Bukit Days, draws inspiration from Balint’s long-standing connection to Bali, its surf culture, beach bars, clubs and surrounding wildlife. The tracks reflect different sides of the island: early sessions by the sea, long sun-drenched afternoons, and nights that drift seamlessly from bars into dancefloors.

DC Promo Tracks: Rosie From The Block "Easy"

Operating at the intersection of club functionality and cerebral sound design, London-based artist Anoesis has steadily built a reputation for forward-thinking electronic music that feels as at home in the warehouse as it does in the headphones. Drawing on strands of techno, house, breaks and rave futurism, Anoesis’ productions are defined by tough rhythms, immersive atmospheres, and a restless, exploratory spirit. Here, we present his third EP for Cyphon and we find him in fine form. The ‘Idios Kosmos EP’ is a five-track statement that dives deep into Anoesis’ own sonic universe — dark, euphoric, twisted and intensely physical — designed for late nights, early mornings and everything in between.
Opening track ‘Idios Kosmos’ sees Anoesis in full nocturnal club mode. Tough, driving beats underpin shimmering strings and mechanical synth arpeggios, while a darker-toned, speaker-wobbling sub bass locks the track firmly into peak-time territory. ‘Reptile Skin’ pushes further into shadowy, other-worldly space. A rolling bassline and crunchy, propulsive groove form the backbone, while glitched-out sonic details and off-kilter processing inject a twisted edge that sounds immense on a big system.
Flipping over, we find ‘Feeling Go’ which picks up the pace and lifts the mood, combining a euphoric, looped-up vocal sample with a driving, housey groove. Tripped-out synth lines spiral overhead, delivering a rush of hands-in-the-air energy without losing the EP’s left-field sensibility. Next up ‘Big Noodle’ heads straight into breakbeat territory, chopping and reshaping classic breaks into a futuristic take on 90s rave. It’s high-energy, raw, and playful, fusing old-school reference points with modern production muscle.
Closing out the EP is ‘Lonely’, the gentler and more introspective finale. Pitched-up vocals, clipped beats, and scratched fills keep the rave DNA intact, but the mood turns inward, winding things down with a cerebral, reflective atmosphere that lingers long after the record stops spinning. ‘Idios Kosmos’ is a bold, cohesive release that captures Anoesis at his most confident — a deep dive into a personal club universe where darkness, euphoria and experimentation coexist.

Seoul duo Salamanda. Uman Therma (Sala) and Yetsuby (Manda) have turned their gaze to the most unassuming of subjects: a single basil plant on a windowsill

There once was a Basil who sat in the dusk, When the light had gone thin and the day shed its husk,
He gazed at the glass where the garden grew small, And pondered his fate in the last of the hall.
 
A wine of deep blue in a vessel unclear appeared on the sill as the midnight drew near,
The Basil regarded it, leaf pressed to pane, And thought several thoughts that he couldn’t explain.

Does he know? said the snail, who was still on the glass, That all things must come, as all things come to pass?
The Basil said nothing, but widened one arm, And accepted the evening with dignified calm.

In Seoul, two small people called Sala and Manda Composed from the windowsill, neither meander,
They caught the blue hour and the wondering mind, The fate that all well-tended basils will find.

Oh Basil, oh Basil, you left-of-centre thing, With your atoms and rituals and quiet suffering,
You lived your full day from the sun to the dark, And went out, like blue wine, without even a mark.

 
Music To Watch Seeds Grow By, returns for its eighth entry with Seoul duo Salamanda. Uman Therma (Sala) and Yetsuby (Manda) have turned their gaze to the most unassuming of subjects: a single basil plant on a windowsill, tracking its full day from morning light to whatever it is basil dreams about after dark.

We’re premiering the album’s closing track, ‘the blue wine’, a final mysterious reverie in which the basil seems to contemplate its own fate, somewhere between acceptance and wonder. It is the still point at the end of the day: the light gone, the snail departed, the photosynthesis done. What remains is something like thought, or the plant equivalent of it. Manda puts it well: does the basil know what it’s for? Would it resist, accept, or even feel something close to joy? ‘the blue wine’ doesn’t answer that. It just sits with the question, which is probably the right thing to do…
