There was a period in time when everyone could be exactly what they wanted to be, a mullet-haired astronaut in front of a paper mâché starship panel, a blond native american dancing around a camp fire, a pirate on the sea drinking whiskey, wine and gin. The european disco scene of the 70s offered any possible scenery to day-dream in every (for today's listeners possibly politically incorrect)way. This episode will offer a jouney through Frinda's german/austro selection in the first hour and songs about robots, food, good batteries, disco dancing, space aliens, and – of course – love when it comes to Geoffrey's set.

Geoffrey LaRue believes that there is no life without glamour. Having grown up in Detroit, the visual artist and record collector recently moved to Berlin to desperately miss pizza and follow their childhood dream of being just like Steven Spielberg by studying stage design at UDK. Although Geoffrey is primarily known for the humorous guest lists at their disco party series "Suck It!”, they are now dedicated to manufacturing drama and to be honest, I envision them one day to create brain-melting deco and stage design for Cocktail or Buttons party without even owing a single plain black t-shirt in Berlin. I came across this human with varied interests at Humboldthain in 2019 when they opened their set playing G Bri's – Non Rompere followed by a mesmerizing uptempo cosmic disco set that just blew everyone away.

His YouTube & Mixcloud channels by the same name have a collective following of over 4,300 fans and it’s easy to see why. An online community built around Paul’s love of folk funk & AOR grooves, it’s a place for discovering under the radar gems and lost classics, with Paul’s mix series now up to volume 115!! Check out the Facebook group spin off to get involved in the community.

Paul was the UK tour DJ for the band The Polyphonic Spree for around 7 years and has also played alongside Arthur Lee & Love, Bonnie Dobson, Spiritualized, 4Hero, Happy Mondays, Simian, The Bees, Julian Cope, Courtney Pine and many, many more! During this time Paul slowly built his treasured collection of soft rock, AOR and folk funk gems by digging in the bins of record stores across the globe, often in the USA.

After many years of hoarding vinyl and hiding in a bubble his compilation, We Are the Children of the Sun was finally released on BBE records in April 2022 receiving fantastic reviews. An album to be enjoyed in joyful places and wide-open spaces. An album to remind us that more connects us than drives us apart. A follow up is due for release in early 2023 so keep your eyes out for that one.

Next month RE:WARM will release another compilation curated by Paul, this time called Folk Funk & Trippy Troubadours Volume One. The first in a series exploring the musical world he has created. Head to their bandcamp for pre-orders & previews.
