'I wanted to cook up some witchy stew of laidback, cinematic, psychedelic, dubby and heavenly pop grooves' Zozo. Istanbul Nov 2022.

' Zozo is a music curator, collector and radio host from Istanbul, known for experimenting at the fringes of dance music. One way or another, she has grown to be one of the most outstanding selector DJs in her country. Following the motto ‘life is hard but music is good’ since an early age, she has a seasoned character and deep understanding of the dynamics of the dancefloor, with which she communicates with empathy. That has kept her busy on the weekends: she has brought her versatile taste to iconic dance floors as Panorama Bar, Contact Tokyo, Primavera Festival, De School, Ankali Prague, Robert Johnson or Salon des Amateurs. She is also a regular in high-rated festivals as Berlin Atonal, Waking Life, Lente Kabinet, Flow Festival, Strange Sounds From Beyond, Dekmantel and its Selectors offshoot.

She's also a part of the Lyon based label & dj crew Macadam Mambo and resident of Berlin institution Sameheads. Also a member of electronic music and art collective ‘Les Belles De Nuit’ founded in Zurich, supporting women and queer artists. Furthermore, her work has been featured on FACT Magazine, Beats In Space, Resident Advisor, Crack Magazine, Carhartt Wip Radio, Groove Magazine, Boiler Room, Dj Mag, Trax Magazine, The Ransom Note, and many more ... 

Zozo is now crowning her interest in music and art by founding a multidisciplinary platform; AFOM (A friend of mine). She aims to bring together her friends, in different fields such as music, art, design and publishing who have been dancing around the same fire and play the game ... '

Marco Gegenheimer and Daniel Baughman started Magic Teapot along with Jens Ingelstedt in 2017, relentlessly searching for hidden sounds from all over the world, paired with nutty video snippets through their Instagram account. Currently they have stopped as a record shop (due to lack of time), as they’re both busy with individual projects. Daniel is A&R at Hivern Discs and a booker at Barcelona's newest Audiophile listening bar, Nica. Marco is nowadays focusing on MLiR’s debut album and has several EP’s lined up this year on Studio Barnhus and Local Talk, to mention a few. In a near future, Magic Teapot Records will become a record label, but until then you can catch them playing at Dekmantel Selectors on the 23rd of August. Dani and Marco recorded this mix exploring breezing new age, magic downtempo, amateurish boogie and experimental disco. A phenomenal journey!

A true Italo-head, Ilan curated one of our favorite compilations of 2019, Night City Life (@spacetalkmusic). As quarantine was hitting all of us hard, he sent us this beautiful mix, and we naturally offered to upload it.

In his words, this one was "inspired by the memories of the view from my late grandparents' apartment in Haifa, surrounded by the warm stillness of night. It features an assortment of crackly/senescent vinyl & dreams of a brighter future".
